The item I dread to forget, the one thing I cannot live without, is Chapstick. I already showed it in my ‘what’s in my bag’ post and it’s the first thing I’ll chuck in my bag when I go anywhere.
My favorite is the regular, classic chapstick. I got my first chapstick back in 2005 when I lived in the US for a little while. I instantly thought it better to be the brand most common here: Labello. Labello is just too greasy, leaves too much of a layer, and therefore lasts 2 seconds on my lips. It also smells rather yucky to me. Chapstick however isn’s as sticky, smells great (not too overpowering) and lasts much longer. I’ve been getting less chipped & cracked lips and my lips are usually silky smooth.
Another great thing about Chapstick are all the different flavors. Who doesn’t remember Katy Perry singing about kissing a girl and tasting her cherry chapstick? Cherry, Strawberry and Peppermint Chapstick are my favorite flavors, but when it comes to other flavors or other lipbalms, I have a few others that I really like too. More on that later.
My savior and holy grail of all chapsticks is, however, Medicated Chapstick. I have a history of getting the worst cold sores known to man. Once I added medicated chapstick to the mix of my regular stuff, the cold sores hurt less and disappeared quicker. So hurrah for that!
Chapstick isn’t the only lipbalm I love. A product I just recently discovered is Rosebud Salve. The only downside of that is that I need to stick my finger in the tin to put it on my lips. When it comes to flavors I have just recently fallen in love with are Lipsmackers. My favorite flavor? Watermelon!
What’s your favorite lipbalm?
