Review: Bobbi Brown Gel Liner

In one of my recent haul posts, you read that I bought a Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner. I was looking for a forest green gel liner and since MAC doesn’t carry one in their permanent line I decided to check out Bobbi Brown. And oh my god, it’s amazing! Not only is it the exact color I was looking for, it’s also long-wearing and goes on like a charm.

This is what you get: 3 grams of product in nice sleek packaging

The product

Here’s what Bobbi Brown says about the product:

This award-winning liner gives you the look of liquid liner with the ease & feel of a gel formula. Long-wearing, water-resistant colour glides on and let’s you get it just right before it dries – then stays without a smear or crease.

Not one word is a lie: it looks like liquid liner and slides on effortlessly. Pigmentation is great and it is definitely long-wearing. After taking these pictures I did the dishes and the swatch on my hand wouldn’t come off until I started scrubbing my skin with my dish washing brush. Impressive!

I’ve also used the gel liner several times and it’s the perfect dark green color. It’s dark enough for it to be noticeable but not as harsh as black. It also has a very pretty shimmer to it. When the liner catches the light it shows up very, much more so then when your use a matte liner. If you have brown eyes like me, then I can definitely recommend you trying out a similar color.

I had difficulty capturing the color in a picture. It showed up darker all the time. This is the best I could do:

The verdict: this is very good gel liner. I would definitely recommend this. It is rather expensive though. At 21 euros this is an expensive liner. If you are looking for a dark green liner, but would like to spend a fraction, check out Essence at your local drug store. They carry a very decent dark green liner as well.

Q: Do you own any Bobbi Brown products?
