Beauty shoplog with MAC, Lush, nail polish and more

I got a few beauty related trinkets too over the past few weeks. Some of this I bought on a whim. Other things I bought because I had been wanting it for a long time. Here they are:

Nail polish: NYC In A New York Color Minute Chelsea, NYC In A New York Color Minute Canal Street, OPI Royal Flush Blush, OPI Designer… De Better

I really don’t need anymore nail polishes, but hey when I see unique colors, or when I see good reviews of polishes by a brand that I haven’t tried yet, I want to see for myself. So that is why I got these. OPI just came out with their Muppet Collection for the Holidays. When I saw them there was this one color that just popped out. It was the sparkly taupe shade you see on the right in the picture. The NYC ones were cheap but the colors are great. Don’t believe me? Here are the swatches for the four polishes:

OPI is on the left, NYC is on the right. Designer… De Better is a bit more sheer than I had hoped but it is still a great color. The NYC colors are very opaque and I just love the soft rose color of Royal Flush Blush.

Lush stuff: Glögg, Angels on Bare Skin (repurchase), soap in figs & leaves

I also hit up Lush. I got a shower gel (Glögg) which smells heavenly and will be perfect for the cold days coming up. I already wrote about Angels on Bare Skin and am curious to try Figs & Leaves. I only bought a small piece as I’m not too fond of soaps, but this felt so rich and creamy and apparently gently exfoliates at the same time, which should make it perfect for me. I can’t wait to try it out.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector (aka BB Cream)

This product has been pretty hyped up and I was curious to try it. I will post a review of this tomorrow so if you want to know how it works and why I bought it: stay tuned.

MAC: lip pencil in In Synch, lipstick (cremesheen) in Creme D’ Nude & Studio Sculpt concealer in NW15

Yesterday I took a trip up to The Hague as Leiden doesn’t have a MAC counter. MAC released their new Glitter & Ice Collection for the Holidays yesterday and I had been eyeballing a paintpot ever since seeing the first pictures online. It was nice weather and so I went to The Hague to pay MAC a visit. Once there, my wanted paintpot had of course sold out already (sigh) but I had something else on my wishlist so I went with that: a nude lipstick that does NOT make me look like I’ve just been resurrected from the dead.

Because that is the usual effect. After some great help and lots of tries I finally found the right one. I also found out that the concealer I usually use is too dark for me and since I find the pump system of that thing annoying (it gives me so much product that I could cover my whole face with it) I also though something in a pot would be a better option. The MUA recommended the Studio Sculpt as it works best with dry skin and I now know I’m NW15 in MAC face products: the lightest there is.

I also did some swatches of these for you guys:

Lip pencil, lipstick & concealer

Q: What are beauty products that are on your wishlist?

  1. Ohh ben benieuwd wat je van de BB cream vind! Ik heb eerst een proefmonstertje besteld. Wou het ook halen, maar proefmonstertje eerst proberen is wel handig, anders geef je dat geld mss voor niks uit 😉
