New computer

Yesterday I bought myself a new laptop computer. Not necessarily because I wanted to but because I had to. My old one was literally falling apart: the backspace button fell off months ago and I was getting blue screens by the minute. Not nice. I had also had it for nearly 3 years and with 2 years being the average lifespan for any laptop, well, it was time for a new one.

My new baby. Hope this will keep me going for a while.

It’s just a plain black boring laptop. I considered buying a white one, but when I looked at the specs on that one the video card wasn’t very good. This one has a bigger screen (it’s a 17 inch wide screen), an equal processor and a better video card. It doesn’t have a whole lot of memory (RAM), but it’s not like I need that. I’m not big on video games or other demanding processes. The only thing it HAS to do is to do many things at the same time. Which is another reason why I picked this laptop: it has a quad core processor meaning it can do more things at the same time.

So far I’m happy with it, but I doesn’t feel like I have a new computer. Granted it is now running Windows 7, which is a huge step up compared to Vista and it is definitely faster, but it looks and feels very much like my old one. Only without the missing button and blue screens. It already gave me quite a fright this morning when it refused to boot, but luckily that was because my VGA was still attached. Right now, it’s working just fine and I’ll be able to work on a computer again without too many glitches popping up.

Specs:

Asus K73T, Processor: AMD A6-3400M, RAM 4 GB, 500 GB of storage, AMD Radeon HD6720G2, 4 USB 3.0 ports.
