FOTD: Minimal smokey eye

I had no clue what to call the following look. The way this came about is because I just recently bought a few items from budget proof brand Catrice which I wanted to try. So to keep it simple I decided to just use all three products in one look. I’m surprised at how it turned out. It worked out quite well, even though I would never selected these products to go together in a look otherwise. Here are the products I’m talking about:

Catrice products (f.l.t.r.):

Intensif’eye Wet & Dry eyeshadow in Black or White Swan?

Gel Eyeliner in Nautica from the Cruise Couture LE

Made to Stay Longlasting cream eyeshadow in 040 Lord of the Blings

The eyeshadow is a baked eyeshadow which give off the prettiest shimmer. It is a black base with bronze/ rust colored and silver/ whitish swirls. The gel liner is a creamy intensive dark blue color. You’ll be able to see this a bit better in the picture of my look. Lastly Lord of the Blings is a cream eyeshadow, much like a MAC paintpot, in a beige/ light taupe color that is very shimmery. As I said, I combined these three products into my look. This is how it turned out:

Products used:

Eyes: Catrice products mentioned above. Lord of the blings all over lid, Black or White Swan in crease, outer V and lower lash line, Nautica is the liner.

Other eye products: Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Maybelline The Falsies mascara, The Body Shop matte eyeshadow as highlight on brow bone.

Face: Missha BB Cream in no. 13 Bright Beige, MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural, MAC Moisture Cover concealer in NW 20, NARS Laguna bronzer, Shisheido blush in RD 103.

Lips: MAC lip erase, MAC matte lipstick in Pink Plaid.

Brows: MAC omega eyeshadow, The Body Shop clear mascara.

Close ups:

Here you can really see how blue the liner is. The second picture nicely shows off the shimmer in the cream shadow as well as the sheen that’s part of the Black or White swan baked eyeshadow.

I really like the dark blue liner. It goes nicely with my dark hazel eyes and it’s dark but not as harsh as a black line. BTW I took the close up pictures at 9.30 PM, hours after I had applied it. So the staying power of these products is also amazing.

Do you like Catrice products? Which one is your favorite?

  1. My favorite of those 3? The Made to Stay Longlasting cream eyeshadow in 040 Lord of the Blings! Deze heb ik ook and i love it!

  2. I discovered Catrice cosmetics here in Germany back in January and I have continually gone back to Catrice time and time again. I especially love their Ultimate Colour Lipsticks.
