Nail polish of the moment

Today I’d like to share with you some of my favorite nail polishes. Currently, I’m not into painting my nails as much as I am trying to give them a break. After 2+ years of always having them covered with a colorful layer they have finally grown strong enough and stay long without any nail polish on. Hip hip hooray. That is why, instead of showing a nail look, I will fill you in on some of my favorite nail polishes for the season. Ranging from budget to high end, there’s a bit fore everyone here.

OPI – The World is Not Enough (James Bond Collection)

When I first saw swatches of the OPI James Bond collection, I instantly fell for this gorgeous shimmery taupe color with a slight duochrome tone to it. The multireflex shimmer in this polish makes that you simply keep on looking at this beauty. Add the fact that OPI is my favorite nail polish brand and ta-dah: you have my favorite nail polish of the moment. Only downside to it is that it’s quite sheer and either needs 3 – 4 layers or an opaque basecoat underneath.

China Glaze Holly Day (2012 Christmas collection)

Last year I was on the hunt for the perfect dark green nail polish and then I found this beauty. Completely creamy, not a hint of shimmer and a deep forest green with a bright touch to it. If OPI are my favorite polishes, China Glaze makes a good second. The finish is gorgeous, goes on marvelously well and dries pretty quickly.

Ciaté Strictly Legal

I don’t have many Ciaté polishes, but the ones I have, I love. I won this gorgeous burgundy color with golden shimmer via their Facebook page some time last year. The best part: what you see is what you get.

Catrice Be Pool

Let’s go budget proof shall we? At just over 2.50 euros this polish is a complete steal no matter how you look at it. This petrol colored polish with just the tiniest hint of silver shimmer, goes on like a charm. And stays on!

W.I.P. (Urban Outfitters) Mustard

If there is one color which is difficult to find in nail polish it’s mustard. So when I saw this at Urban Outfitters when I was in London in early 2012 I had to take it home. It’s the perfect mustard yellow color, complete with cream finish. I’d almost want to eat it. I used both this and the polish above to create the nail look which you can find by clicking here.
