My one wish for this space was to feature more fashion related posts. Due to lack of time it took a while to come to fruition, but I think it was well worth the wait. My favorite type of fashion related posts are outfit posts and lookbooks. Today I’m kicking of with number one out of 3 installments for my spring lookbook. This one is titled “Cool spring”. Even though spring has it’s nice days, early morning, late evenings and rainy days can still be on the chilly side. Therefore this lookbook revolves around outfits I would wear on those days where you have no clue what to wear.
1.) Pastel & Neon
Neon coral sweater (H&M)
Mint blue sleeveless button down (H&M)
Above the knuckle rings (River Island)
Pastel multicolored leggings (River Island)
Mint green creepers (Underground via Urban Outfitters)
If there are two types of colors which are appropriate for spring it’s neon & pastel colors. In this outfit I’m combining the two. The sweater will keep you warm, but you can easily take it off and just wear the sleeveless button down I’m wearing underneath it. I bought all of these items last year or the year before that, so I’m not sure if you’re still able to find any of these if you’re interested.
2.) Minty fresh
Mint green cardigan (New Yorker)
White sleeveless button down shirt (H&M)
Necklace (H&M)
Dark acid wash high waisted jeans (Joni Jeans via Topshop)
Tweed Converse high tops (Sneaker store in New York City)
Another thing I love for colder spring days are lightweight cardigans. I paired my mint green one with a clean white button down top which I tied into a 90s knot. Add in a dark acid wash denim and converse sneakers and you have a perfect casual outfit.
3.) Lilac it up
Lilac button down shirt (American Apparel)
Necklace (H&M)
Grey leggings with faux leather detail (H&M)
Flats with toe cap (Primark)
Last year I had a massive obsession with lilac and periwinkle colors. This year, it’s coral (as you can see below). At the time I bought this shirt from American Apparel which is an oversized one-size-fits-all fit. I love this shirt to death! If you tuck this into a skirt or highwaisted pants you can make it look a lot more dressy, but I tend to wear it as is mostly.
4.) Biker chic
Coral button down shirt (H&M)
Necklace (H&M)
Rings (H&M, 2 different sets)
Biker pencil skirt (Only)
Tights (Primark)
Cut out boots (New Look)
My favorite color for this year: pinky corals! I am liking it especially on my lips and nails, but when I saw this shirt at H&M I couldn’t pass it up. I paired it with a biker style pencil skirt and cut out boots for a bit more of an edge and to not make the shirt look too preppy. I’m more of a casual gal.
5.) Full skirts & floral prints
Floral navy button down shirt with wide V-neck & boxy fit (Cooperative via Urban Outfitters)
Full midi length crinkle skirt (H&M)
Necklace (Stall at Spital Fields Market in London)
Bracelet (Primark)
Chelsea boots (H&M)
The dressiest outfit in the bunch. The minute I saw this skirt in the H&M catalogue I knew I had to have it. It’s a full skirt with pleating and hits me at a midi length. It’s made out of a thick and sturdy material which makes this skirt perfect for colder days. I paired it with a darker floral top and gold accessories.
That’s it for my first look book in forever! As you can see I’m obsessed with button down tops during this time of year. It’s one item I bring out every transitional season, so also fall, because they are easy to combine with different types of bottoms to create new looks. Curious to find out what make up I’m wearing? Then stay tuned, because I will be showing you that in tomorrow’s post. Have a great day!
