We’re right in the middle of spring. This means it’s a perfect time to show you some spring proof nail looks. Want to transfer your nails into easter egg? Or just wear a bright color and amp it up a tad? Look no further because below you will find 5 perfect spring nail looks. As an added bonus these are super easy to create as well as all combos are a base cream color and a top coat of some sort.
Spring flowers
OPI You’re Such a Buda-pest & Max Factor Fantasy Fire
My favorite color for spring is a purple toned blue or a blue toned purple. Not quite lilac and not quite lavender, periwinkle is the ultimate fresh colored hue that is perfect for spring. I paired the periwinkle cream base with a subtle duochrome shimmer to make things a bit more interesting. To keep the periwinkle color, I only added the top coat on alternating nails.
Speckled eggs
L’Oreal Color Riche Pistachio Dragé & Maybelline Street Artist Top Coat in Boom Box Black
The thing about spring is that all birds will lay eggs. This combo reminds me of the speckled eggs which, if found, means spring is near. At least in the Netherlands that’s the case. This pale green color is one of my new favorite colors this spring.
I want to sprinkle my day with joy
Ciaté Sugar Almonds & Barry M Dolly Mixture
A fairly neutral base, paired with a fun stick glitter top coat in pretty pastel colors. This reminds me of ‘vruchtenhagel‘, which in turn reminds me of Easter breakfast.
Fun in a polish
Essie Cute as a Button & Golden Rose Carnival Nail Color no. 12
My other favorite color for spring: coral pink. And Essie’s Cute as a Button is THE perfect color to achieve that look. I added some matte multi-shaped glitters to make it a bit more interesting. If you look carefully, some of the flecks are also of a coral shade, which is why I knew this would look great together. I went with glitters on just my index and ring fingers.
Sparkle through the night
Barry M Gelly Hi-shine Nail Paint in Blueberry & W7 glitter in Fairytale
Last but not least a more sparkly nail look. Pale blues are the color for spring/ summer 2014 it seems and so this bright pale blue goes nicely with that trend. I added an enchanting looking glitter. To me it just looks like what I would imagine a mermaid’s tale to look like. Great for parties (but I of course, simply wore this during the day). This manicure also lasted me a while, which was a great added bonus.

[…] From all drugstore nail polishes out there, the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine formula is one of my favorites. The super glossy finish combined with great opacity and good lasting power make this a cheap but good nail polish. They also come in an array of colors and one of my favorites is this sky blue color in Blueberry. I love topping up cream shades with glitters and you can find some suggestions, including for how I combined this color, in an article I posted last year. […]
[…] Starting off with possibly my favorite pastel nail polish shade. L’Oreal does some great nail polishes, but their pastels are simply the best. They go on opaque (which for pastel polish is great) and they stay put a good couple of days. The bottles are tiny, but then again, using up nail polish is quite difficult. This color is my favorite as it is a light green, I love pistachio ice cream (it’s my favorite) and it was the polish that got my love for pastel nail polish started. You can see the color on my nails in this post. […]
[…] this nail look completely convinced that I would be using it for a blog post. Only to find that a) I already posted something similar last year and b) I nicked it too, which make it look less than perfect. I still really liked this combination […]
