Spring make up look

Coral is one of my favorite colors for spring so I decided to create a full pinky coral make up look from eyes to cheeks to lips. At the same time I’m trying a new foundation, of which the review will be up later this week. This make up look is very simple to make, but I thought it looked fresh and pretty so I still wanted to share. Forgive the slight orange teint (that’s a preview of the foundation review right there) and the slightly teary-eyed look. I took these pics in the middle of a bout of hayfever and so I looked a bit worse for wear.

The coral lips I created by using a Topshop lipstick in the shade Macaroon. I love Topshop lipstick (my all time favorite red is by them) and this is no exception. It wears alright. I find this color’s formula to be a bit creamier and thus wears off a bit quicker than my bright red one. On my cheeks I’ve been trying the Zoeva blush in He Loves Me, Maybe… It’s a pinky coral colored powder blush and I’m really liking it so far. For the eyes I went with two of my favorite MAC eyeshadows: the infamous Expensive Pink and underdog Paradisco. The latter is so underrated, hardly anybody ever talks about it. It is however, one of the prettiest coral shades ever, with a golden undertone which makes it a perfect match for Expensive Pink.

All other eyeshadows are also by MAC. That’s one thing I love about my MAC eyeshadow palette: because I picked all the colors myself, I have everything I need for a nice make up look within reach. From matte highlighters to color that go well with my eye color: it’s all there. I recently purchased a few shadows to update the palette as I didn’t have any matte crease colors nor any  mattes for blending out other shades. I took out a few colors I had ended up not using very often and I put in three matte shades. That update will go online in the future. For a bit of glow I used another MAC product: the Extra Dimension Skin Finish in Fairly Precious. Keep on reading to see what else I’ve used.

  1. Gorgeous, I love the whole look 🙂 I’m so into corals and peaches right now too, they really brighten things up!

  2. […] Earlier this year, I was very surprised when the Magnetic Nude collection, filled to the brim with extra dimension finish products wasn’t selling out. I browsed the MAC website, thinking it would all be gone, to find the two products I was interested in to still be available. How fortunate for me! One of the items I picked up was this very pretty skinfinish in Fairly Precious. It’s one of those colors that gives off just the right amount of sheen and can be layered over many blush colors to give that extra bit of highlight. I’m wearing it in this blog post. […]

  3. […] This matte blush is the brightest in the bunch and also the most pigmented. The reason why I love this blush for fall is because I am totally into wearing grey looks as of late. So a bright pop of color to lift the look can be a welcome change. Again the fact that this is fully matte makes it easy for layering under highlighters and over bronzers, making it versatile. It is easy to apply but even more so than with the Wet N Wild blush you have to be careful how much you apply as it can easily look too much. This blush costs 7.50 euros and thus is a nicely priced blush, especially when you consider the quality, which is just bang on. You can see it on my cheeks here. […]
