30 day make up challenge # 9: Grey

Wow how long has it been since I last showed you a 30 day make up challenge post? A little search on the blog tells me it’s been almost 2 months. Yikes! Time to put this challenge back into business. I’m showing you a very simple look (again). I just find these first 10 assignments based on colors a bit uninspiring. After this the theme is black, but once that is done we’ll get into more creative territory. I wore this look in last week’s lookbook post, so check that out here if you haven’t seen it yet. I’ve kept the eye soft but for good reason. Have a look at the pictures below to see why.

Well I’m guessing that’s obvious straight away right? Yep, I wanted to go with a brighter than bright neon pink lip. Since many of my lookbook outfits were quite monochrome I thought it would make a good addition in the all over look. And grey is so just… well, grey on its own. Whenever I wear greys, whether it’s on my face or in my outfits I tend to pair it with a pop of color. Reds, greens, blues and pinks being my favorites. Grey is simply one of my favorite neutrals to play around with. To create the eyelook I’ve used the eyeshadow palette which I purchased mainly because of the many grey and taupe shades in it: the Too Face Naked eye palette. It’s great for creating soft smokey looks, add on some grey liner and your all grey eyelook is finito. The lips are a completely different beast. I love love love wearing bright lipsticks at this time of year and when I bought this neon pink lipstick last year I fell in love instantly. It has a hint of a blue undertone making it even brighter.
