If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you will know that I swear by Urban Decay eyeshadows. I have many of their palettes and I especially love their Naked palettes. And I love matte eyeshadow. So when Urban Decay released the Naked Basics palette I knew it would find its way to my stash one day. And just recently that day happened. I will be showing you the palette in all its glory in a few days time, but today I will be showing you the look I created using not just a few but all 6 shadows in this palette. I hope it can show you how easy it is to make a complete make up look with this one palette, making it great for taking along when you’re traveling or to put in your make up bag for on the go.
As you can see I kept the entire look quite classic and light. The palette is great for creating a nicely defined eye without it being too overpowering. When I wore this out I got quite a few compliments on it. It’s a chique look that appeals to many people. Perfect for work, job interviews or school and basic enough to be pulling off a brighter lip than even what I am wearing in this look.
I went with a lighter shade on my eyelid and a medium color in the crease. I used the dark brown in my outer V and on my lower lash line. I used the black eyeshadow as eyeliner and the two highlighting shades for my inner eye corner and brow bone respectively. So boom: 6 colors in the palette and all colors went onto my eyes, without it looking too much.
The lipstick is a Dior one, which is a really nice hot pink color with a coral undertone that is one of my more recent additions as well. I just loved this color the minute I saw it and it gives the look an instant injection of something sweet. I’m usually not one to go for shiny lips, but since the eyelook is otherwise completely matte, I decided at least some part of my face could sparkle a teeny bit.

[…] All shadows are buttery soft and swatch and blend like a dream. The only troublesome color in this palette is Crave, which feels a little bit chalky. It is still very pigmented, as are the other shades in this palette, but it’s not as smooth as the rest. You can clearly see that in the swatch. Foxy is a bit yellow for me, but I found it works very nicely as an inner corner highlighting shade for me. And I hope you can see why WOS is my favorite shade? This shade goes perfectly with my skin tone and thus is the most versatile shade in this palette for me. I did a look using all these shadows a little while ago, check that out here. […]
[…] We started this post with a high end lipstick and we are ending it with one too. I bought this lipstick on a bit of whim. There was a buy two get 40% off deal and I had found one lipstick, but couldn’t find another one. Then I saw this: a pink with silver shimmer. But when I swatched it I thought it looked pretty and then I put it on and loved it. I still haven’t gotten round to reviewing this and the lipstick I bought at the same time. I am wearing it here. […] Finally a product that I got quite some use out of when I first got it, but that I no longer reach for very often. And that’s because this is a loose powder. I bought this on a bit of whim, back when the world of make up was still quite new to me. So a) I didn’t really know what I was buying and b) I didn’t know what a pain this would be to use due to the fact that it’s a loose powder. The product itself is stunning though. So, even though I no longer use this because it’s too much hassle, I still love this product and keep it just in case I struck with the urge to use it.
