I have so many different nail polishes that I’ve decided to start and try to catalog all of them, while on my nails, on this blog. If I keep this up I should end up with a good overview of all the polishes I have, swatched on my hands to see what they look like. I have plenty of polishes that don’t need anything except themselves. No top coats, not glitters, not nail art needed to be pretty. Catrice’s Genius in the Bottle is such a polish.
I apologize in advance for the amount of pictures in this post of just one nail polish. This polish is a stunning duo chrome and the effect was difficult to capture on camera. Hence the picture overkill, but I’m sure you don’t mind with such a beauty!
Genius in the Bottle is a stunning duochrome polish. It is often listed as a dupe for Chanel’s Peridot nail polish. Like the Chanel polish, this polish shifts from brown to green to gold depending on how the light hits it. In these pictures I got plenty of gold and brown but the green was a bit harder to capture. Nevertheless it’s a nail polish that keeps you looking at your nails all day and will not go unnoticed by other people.
The quality of this nail polish is spot on. It is an older nail polish and unfortunately no longer available. It has a very metallic finish which makes it perfect for fall and winter this year as metallics are back! The only problem I had with applying this polish was a little bubble on my middle finger. I often have this problem with metallic shades. I don’t know exactly why, but it’s just something that happens. This polish is not at all streaky and lasts 3 – 4 days with a top coat.
Do you have any duo chrome nail polish favorites?
