6x lips for fall

I love how fall allows you to go all out with your make up. In summer I never feel like wearing too much as it just melts away. For fall, I love that I can wear smokey eyes and some of my favorite lip colors: berries & plums. I have quite a few of these colors and I found 6 in my stash that I love, wear all the time and surprisingly it’s a nice combination of high end and budget proof.

As you can see it’s a perfect 50/50 divide. Below you can find 3 drugstore lipsticks and 3 high end lipsticks. All of these lipsticks fall in the berry and plum specter and as you will see, they are pretty close in color, yet all are different enough for me. They all give off a different look and go with different make up looks. The drugstore gems are more berry toned, whereas the high end ones are more plum. You can find swatches of these at the end.

Topshop Wicked

Don’t be scared off by how dark this looks in the tube: it is not once you swatch it. Topshop do some amazing lipsticks and I pick up one or two every time I find myself in one. I bought this one last year and have been wearing it loads. This lipstick is best described as a blackberry shade. It is a dark berry but definitely still more red than purple, but there is a hint of that purple undertone. As if you’ve just indulged on a large basket of freshly picked blackberries. This lipstick costs 8 pounds which is around 10 euros, which is affordable. Topshop lipstick have excellent staying power. You can see it on my lips in this Instagram picture.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate lipstick 107

If you are in the market for a good berry lipstick and you don’t want to spend too much money: buy this one. It is fool proof! The color suits many skintones and is a favorite in the world that is beauty. This is a true berry red color. It lasts a long time on your lips, the only thing I don’t like about this is the smell. I am not a big fan of the smell of Rimmel lipsticks, but if you can get past that this is a no brainer. This lipstick is around 8 or 9 euros each, but cheaper if you’re not in The Netherlands. I am wearing it in this blog post.

Catrice Feathers & Pearls Roaring Lip Color in Josephine’s Joy

The best red Catrice has ever made and it was limited edition! It is still a great red shade though and one of my favorite in my collection. It is a fairly bright shade, most certainly the brightest one featured here, but I tend to wear this mostly in fall winter. This is a pinky red, which reminds me of fresh raspberries. And thus it makes for a perfect berry shade. This being Catrice, the lasting power is great, and which a very friendly price tag of 4 euros. I am wearing it here.

Illamasqua lipstick in Shard

I bought this lipstick in London last year. I really wanted to try some Illamasqua products and had heard great things about their lipsticks. So I picked up this dark plum shade. It is definitely purple and fully matte. It’s a little waxy and drags when you put it on, but once it’s on this baby will not budge. It is long-wearing and the color is stunning. I used it in my most recent get ready with me video. This lipstick is a dream, but isn’t cheap, I think this was around 20 euros. I am also wearing it in this blog post.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Matte Black Cassis

A few weeks ago, one of the high end drugstore in my town closed down and they had a massive sale on. I bought a few things at low prices and one of them was this lipstick. It was in last years collection and limited edition. So the fact I still found this, is quite amazing. Anyway, this color is the darkest one here. It is a reddish plum color and lives up to its name: it reminds me of the cassis drink. I haven’t worn this yet for an entire day, but a review will be coming up shortly where I will show you what this looks like on. It’s a stunning color though so I could not, not feature it here.

Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Venom

I remember buying this earlier this year and being amazed. The Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks are a wonderful make up product that I feel aren’t mentioned enough by bloggers and on youtube. In fact, I have heard almost no one talk about these. This range of lipstick is great and they do some out of the box colors, such as this one. A pinky plum that is bright and in your face. It’s the color I’m wearing in the picture in the sidebar, but you can also see it on here. These lipsticks have great staying power, but that does come with a price tag: these puppies cost around 20 euros each. But you do get something unique and definitely fun color.

Swatches (f.l.t.r.):
Topshop – Rimmel – Catrice – Illamasqua – Estee Lauder – Urban Decay

That is the round up of my favorite lipsticks for fall. And I’m so happy it is fall again, so I can bust these out because these are also some of my all time favorite lip colors to wear.

  1. […] Rimmel Kate lipsticks – Sometimes drugstore brands make mistakes, such as discontinuing one of the best lipstick formulas at the drugstore. That is what Rimmel did. The Rimmel Kate lipsticks are legendary and I am totally on that bandwagon. The replacements are nice, but nowhere as good as the original. […]
