The original plan was to post my signature make up look today. As part of the 30 day make up challenge that I am still working on after over a year. One blog goal for this year is to complete that challenge. I’m not sure yet how I’ll do that, but I thought I might be able to if I’d post an extra blog post every week or every other week. I haven’t decided yet, so please leave a comment down below if you have any ideas how I can finish this challenge within a reasonable time frame. For now, I am presenting you with the make up I wore to the dinner on New Year’s Eve.
I opted for a brown smokey eye with a bit of glitter. I only used one eyeshadow palette to create this look. As I didn’t have too much time to create a look, I kept it quite simple and I was done within 30 minutes and that included blow drying my hair. The eyeshadow palette I used is the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita palette. In addition to the palette I used to eye pencils. I used one pencil as a base color all over my lid and then used a different pencil on my waterline and tight line.
I kept the face flushed but simple looking. I contoured a little with NARS Laguna (cheeks, forehead, nose, chin/ jaw) and added in quite a bit of shine with The Balm Mary-Louminizer. This highlight is quickly becoming my favorite. It gives the perfect glow from within look, rather than disco ball. To bring back color in my face after applying my base, I used my Ambient Lighting blush by Hourglass in Diffused Heat. This gives off the most gorgeous reddish/ pink hue and I find it looks very flattering on me. For lips, I went bright and bold with MAC’s Lady Danger lipstick.
To create the eyelook I first used a Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon eye pencil in the color Dark Pearl. I smudged this all over my lid to create a smokey base. I then used the enhance color from the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita palette all over the lid and blended the color up and out into my crease. I darkened up my crease and outer V with the smoke color from the same palette. Next I applied my inner corner highlight which I swept onto my lower lash line, and it’s the no 1 prime color. As a finishing touch I took some of the no 4 pop color from the Charlotte Tilbury palette and dabbed it onto my lids with my fingers. Finally I tight lined my upper and lower lash lines with a brown eyeshadow pencil by Catrice.
