I found this tag on mysupersweetlife.nl. The girl running this blog loves dresses and I love them too, so when I saw she created this tag, I thought I’d do it as well. This is actually two tags combined and I translated the questions into English to the best of my ability. I hope you enjoy!
How many dresses do you have?
The last time I counted them I was at 100. I think it’s still somewhere around this number, but I will be clearing out my closet in a few weeks time, so I think I’ll be left with fewer.
Where do you buy your dresses?
H&M, ASOS, Forever 21, Topshop, Primark… Pretty much if it’s a store that sells clothes within my budget, chances are I own a dress from the. But the first four I mentioned are definitely my favorite places to buy dresses.
What dress is on your wish list?
At this moment I don’t have any dresses on my wish list. Fashion wise I’m in a bit of a rut when it comes to the current trends. None of the colors are really catching my eye, the shapes are too Scandanavian ‘minimalist’ and thus not flattering on me. Of course, the spring collections have just hit stores, so who knows what will happen?
What is your favorite dress?
The two dresses in this collage! The first dress is by a brand called Love, which I bought at Topshop. The red lace dress I bought around Christmas time from H&M. Both are skater dresses which are my favorite to begin with but both these dresses are just perfect.
What is your favorite place for online shopping?
I usually shop online at H&M or ASOS, but lately I’ve found that Urban Outiftters have a great online shop too. I love H&M because I pretty much know what size I will be and they have a pretty good return policy. Asos I love for the fact that they have so many different brand, but also their own name brand label carries some great pieces.
How do you combine a dress into an outfit?
I usually wear them as is in summer and in colder weather I love pairing them with thick tights and a cozy cardigan. Especially longer ones that hit me at the edge of my dress. I prefer cardigans to blazers as they are warmer and add more of a casual touch.
Most expensive and cheapest dress in your closet?
The dress on the left is the most expensive dress I have. It was 60 or 70 euros from H&M Trend. It is the perfect 50s type dress with a modern twist and I love wearing it at more special occasions. The neon pink dress I bought on sale from H&M for 7 euros two years ago. It’s super bright and a real statement piece.
Which dress was not worth the money?
I once bought a dress when I first discovered Asos which fit, but was terribly creased. I had hung it in my closet to take to my parents to get it ironed (I don’t own an iron!) and when I took it out to get it fixed so I could wear it, there was a huge hole in the dress. I still don’t know how it got there!
Who is your style icon?
I don’t really have a style icon. I just browse through magazines, watch youtube videos and keep an eye on what’s in stores and that’s how I decide what to wear. My style is a mishmash of a ton of different styles anyway, but mostly I like pairing preppy with more grungy items.
What is your favorite summer dress?
I have two and they are in the picture above. The one on the left is by ZARA and I bought it while I was on vacation in Barcelona last summer. I wore it on the trip so I have many memories attached to it. The second one is an oldie but a goodie. It’s from H&M and I love throwing this on when it’s super hot. I’ve worn this thing to the beach, to the park, on day trips, it’s pretty much fool proof.
What is your favorite dress for fall?
For fall, I love the dress you saw above, the green one from Topshop. But I actually did two different blog post with some of my favorite fall dresses. I did a lookbook last fall, and I did a post on my favorites 2 years ago.
If you were to design a dress, what would it look like?
It would be a skater dress for sure, because that is what suits me best. It would need a zip on the back, a stretchy fabric on top, a closure at the top so you don’t need three hands to close it. It needs a fit & flare skirt and should have a fun pattern, perhaps pineapples or something and it would have to be in a bright color.
Feel free to do this tag if you’d like and what dress would you design?
