Soap & Glory Hand Food

Still on the hunt for the perfect hand cream? Then look no further, because it has been found. Soap & Glory’s Hand Food is a cult favorite and definitely worth the hype. It’s thick, it’s creamy and it smells delicious.

Soap & Glory Handfood hand cream

Soap & Glory is an English brand that I know from English drugstores. However, their products are also available from Sephora in the US and Douglas in Germany carries it as well. A tube containing 125 ml of cream costs 5.50 pounds in the UK. Prices vary in different countries.

Hand Food is one of Soap & Glory’s most famous products. Here’s what Soap & Glory has to say about their cult favorite:

Contains shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow . Scented with our Original Pink fragrance. the most astonishing hand cream ever? You decide!

Instructions for Use

Apply as often as you want to soften, smooth and soothe dry, chapped, or otherwise hampered hands.

Wait?! Marshmellow?? No wonder it feels so silky smooth. The product comes in a pink squeezy tube that contains a fair amount of product. It contains shea butter, almond, grapeseed and macadamia oil, all high up the list. Perfume can be found halfway through the list, which is probably why this product smells so delicious. A warning is given on the packaging to not use this product on damaged or irritated skin.

Finally the product itself. The cream is thick and nourishing. I apply a dollop the size of what you can see in the picture above every night before going to bed. The next morning, I wake up and my hands still feel soft and I don’t need hand cream at any other point throughout the day. This hand cream is pretty heavy duty, but there are also smaller sizes on sale which are easy for on the go. So if you feel you do need more, you can easily chuck it in your bag and have some on hand at all times.

The scent of this is heavenly. It is a strong scent that is fairly overpowering perhaps, but I like it. I like it so much that I miss it when I run out. It helps me get to sleep in a weird sort of way. It’s a fresh and sweet scent at the same time. It’s a little bit musky but not too much and it’s one part of the hand cream that I enjoy the most.

There is of course one downside: it runs out quite quickly and it’s difficult to get all the product out. I think one 125 ml tube lasts me roughly 2 months (and I only use it once a day). When the product starts to run out it takes a lot of effort to squeeze out the rest that is in the thickest part of the tube. The plastic doesn’t allow much give and thus I always feel I throw away a third of product.

I hope it comes as no surprise that this is my favorite hand cream. It leaves my hand feeling silky soft and it smells great. I highly recommend this, but when you have very sensitive hands or suffer from skin conditions I suggest you first try this on a small patch of skin before applying the mother load.

What is your favorite hand cream?
