Where my eyelooks become more muted for spring, I love to instead put the focus on my lips for spring. Out come the bright pinks, corals and reds, good bye smokey eyes. For this post I’ve picked some of my favorite shades that I find myself bringing out year after year. I tried to make it a mix of both high end and drugstore shades so there is something for everyone here.
Again, like for the eyeshadow post, I will not post any looks in this article. However, if you care to see what some of these shades look like when I’m wearing them: just click the links in this post and you should be able to see a look for almost every one of these. I hope you enjoy this post!
YSL Rouge pur Couture The Mats 208 Fuchsia Fétiche
One of my best lipstick buys ever, is this YSL number. I am wearing it in the review I posted when I first bought this. I have been wearing this quite a bit since, as you can see from the smudge and smearing on the bullet. The color is bright but not too bright.
Topshop Macaroon
If you’re in the market for a peachy coral shade, then I can highly recommend Topshop’s Macaroon. Macaroon has a good coverage and adds a hint of freshness to any look you’re wearing. If you’d like to see what this looks like on my lips, you can see that in this outrageous Barbie inspired make up look.
Catrice Ultimate Colour 390 On the Pink Side of Life
Like in the eyeshadow post that went online on Monday, there is a recent purchase, which has become an instant favorite. Catrice has come out with some stunning new products for spring/ summer 2015 and this lipstick has quickly become one of my favorite all time lipstick shades. It is more of a coral which leans pink than Macaroon which I showed you above. Hence, the color is darker and more prominent. I am wearing this lipstick in the original review.
MAC Amplified in Impassioned
MAC’s Impassioned has been a favorite for years. I remember first trying this on my lips in store and the MUA went: WOAH that looks stunning on you. It was one of the first super bright lipsticks I ever bought and thus holds a special space in my heart. I bring out this fuchsia coral shade whenever spring is knocking at the door and I always get compliments when I wear this. I am wearing it in this ancient make up look post.
Dior RougeDior 757 Souveraine
We started this post with a high end lipstick and we are ending it with one too. I bought this lipstick on a bit of whim. There was a buy two get 40% off deal and I had found one lipstick, but couldn’t find another one. Then I saw this: a pink with silver shimmer. But when I swatched it I thought it looked pretty and then I put it on and loved it. I still haven’t gotten round to reviewing this and the lipstick I bought at the same time. I am wearing it here.
Swatches: YSL – Topshop – Catrice – MAC – Dior
Time for swatches! As you can see all these shades are fairly similar in tone. Some are brighter, darker, or more intense. The pigmentation is great. All of these go on opaque, but not all of them last very long. I find that MAC’s Amplified and YSL Fuchsia Fétiche are the longest lasting in this line up. The others don’t last a meal and need to be reapplied more often.

Ik ben nog op zoek naar een mooie mac lipstick, ik hou die van jou even in m’n achterhoofd! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Er zijn heel veel mooie MAC lipsticks. Veel succes met uitzoeken.
