2015 spring make up look

It’s SPRING! It’s March 21st so that means that spring has finally arrived. And to celebrate that I’m rounding up my week of spring related posts with a make up look. It features some of the products you may have spotted in blog posts this week. So if you’ve been wondering what some of these items look like when you wear them: here’s a look.

I went with a defined but otherwise neutral eye. Mainly because I wanted to make sure the lip color popped off the screen as much as possible. On my cheeks I am wearing my current favorite cheek combo and most other product have all been staples for the past couple of months.

All in all this is a super easy make up to do. I started with applying some eyeshadow base. I did my brows next and moved on to my foundation, concealer and power. I never power my entire face anymore, just the areas that need it. This is mainly my t-zone, the areas of my cheeks right besides my nose and my under eye area to set my concealer. I then used MAC’s Painterly Paint Pot to block out any redness on my eyelid. On top of that I applied a Max Factor Excess Shimmer cream shadow in Copper. I used a shimmery champagne gold shade all over my lid (can you guess which one?) to make it extra shiny. I then used a mixture of the top two shades in the Kiko Color Fever 101 palette to define my crease and lower lash line. I used the lightest shade on my brow bone and inner corner.

I topped up the eye look with a bit of Maybelline’s The Falsies Flared mascara and then moved on to cheeks. I contoured using NARS Laguna bronzer, applied a soft rosy shade for blush and finally went in with my favorite highlight of all time: The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer. Of course this look is all about the lips and used MAC’s Amplified lipstick in Impassioned for that bright pop of color. I love this pinky-coral-fuchsia shade against my light complexion. And paired with otherwise neutral make up, I feel it works best.

All in all, I think this is a very wearable look. The lip color is bright but not too in your face, like a MAC Candy Yum Yum or any of the super bright shades. I love how it complements the defined rose colored eye with a bit of shine. It’s simple, yet colorful at the same time and thus perfect for spring.

What is your favorite spring make up look?

P.S. I did a different look last year, so click here if you need some more inspiration.

  1. […] It is a light to medium coverage foundation that hides everything I want gone, blends very easily into the skin and it feels like you’ve got nothing on. It was this foundation that got me to try more different one, but it is also the one I keep coming back to. I love this stuff. Too bad it is so expensive, which is why I was glad to find some cheaper alternatives at the drugstore. A full make up look using this foundation can be found in this blog post. […]
