Tried & true skin-, body- & haircare products

I try out many different beauty products. From make up to skincare and from hair products to bodycare: I love trying new things and am always in for trying out new lines. Despite all those trials and loving every minute of it, there are a few products that will always stand out for me. Those are the products I will always come back to no matter what and that I always repurchase or keep back ups off just in case: my tried and true.

Soap & Glory Handfood

We’re starting off this post with my all time favorite hand cream. This smells nice, nourishes my hands and is absorbed quickly. Such as shame I only buy this when I’m in the UK. I wrote a full review on it here.

Decubal foaming face wash

You know a product is a long time favorite when you first mentioned it in a blog post almost three years ago and still use it. This foaming face wash is very gentle but gets the job done. I wrote a full review two years ago.

Lush Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Eaze hair mask

I am not much of a haircare person and from all beauty products I tend to change them up the most. I am not too loyal to any haircare brands in particular and when it comes to my hair anything that does not require heat is fair game. The first ever haircare product that I tried that I felt really made a difference for my hair is this hair mask by Lush. I reviewed it last year.

Nivea cream

A classic beauty product I cannot live without is Nivea cream. Just the plain variety. I pretty much use this for my every day run of the mill skin issues. I love using it as a cuticle cream and any dry patches on my knees and elbows in winter time. Whenever I am traveling I always make sure to take a mini because this cream can double as a hand cream, foot cream, body lotion and what else you might want to use a cream for. I never reviewed this yet but I’m pretty sure you all know what this does and it smells heavenly.

The Body Shop Aloe Vera Calming Toner

My favorite toner in the whole world is this one by The Body Shop. I used this for years on end until I discovered micellar water which I now favor over this. However, I still keep a bottle on hand, just in case the entire micellar water hype is phased out and the products start disappearing from the stores. I reviewed this product along with the facial cleanser.

Lush Flying Fox shower gel

Of course my favorite shower gel should not be left out of a tried and true products post. The smell of this is not for everyone I guess, but I love using this for night time showers. I always sleep like a baby after using this. I reviewed this about a year ago.

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer

When it comes to skincare I am very picky. I have sensitive skin and thus allergic reactions are always a possibility whenever I try something new. I bought this and after it ran out immediately repurchased it. This is so refreshing on the skin and a great morning moisturizer as it truly wakes you up and gives you that extra morning boost. I have not yet reviewed this as I didn’t have a chance to take any good pictures before and currently I am working on using up other skincare products first. But you can be assured that the minute I open up this new jar, I will be writing that review.

Lush Angels on Bare Skin

One of the very first reviews I ever wrote was on this product. I use this cleanser only a few times a week for a bit of a scrub. I have found this really cleared up my skin and when I use this I get fewer spots and zits. The review for this is by now almost 4 years old. Perhaps I ought to redo it?

Dove Invisible Dry deodorant

Deodorant is a bit of a boring product to talk about, but it took me ages to find one I liked. I used this spray on deodorant by Dove for ages before switching to a different type altogether. However, I still keep this around, but no longer use it on the daily. This now lives in my gym bag and at work, for those quick spruce ups in between.

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make Up Remover

Finally I would like to show you a cleanser that I am currently trying to find a cheaper alternative for. I used to love the Sephora waterproof make up remover, but then Sephora left The Netherlands and they took my favorite make up remover with them. I found a great alternative in this one by The Body Shop, but at €12 per bottle I find it a bit steeply priced as it is twice as expensive as the Sephora one. I am currently trying out one by Kruidvat which is super cheap and I am about to try one by Garnier.
