Soap & Glory Endless Glove hand cream

My favorite hand cream? Soap & Glory Hand Food. I hoard that stuff like there is no tomorrow. It is the only hand cream that truly does something for my hands while being absorbed quickly without leaving that greasy hand cream feel. The scent is also heavenly. So when I discovered the brand does another hand cream that is supposed to be even extra nourishing, I thought I should give it a try.

Soap & Glory Endless Glove 2-in-1 Moisture Mask & Hand Cream

Soap & Glory is a bodycare brand from the UK drugstore. They also do some make up and some of their products are available in other countries as well. This hand mask is a tad more expensive than the Hand Food version: at 6.50 pounds, it will cost you a pound more. Soap & Glory products aren’t the cheapest but for a drugstore brand they are quite middle of the road I find. The tube contains 125 mls of product.

The packaging, is like most Soap & Glory products, retro and a tad tacky. The front of the simple tube in the loud pink packaging dons many states and claims. One of them is that it works up to 12 hours after it is applied. It is infused with oils, vitamin and shea butter as well as pomegranate.

The ingredient list:

Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Isononyl Isononanoate, Cetyl Alcohol, Urea, Phenoxyethanol, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Disodium EDTA, Parfum (Fragrance), Oleic/Linoleic/Linolenic Polyglycerides, Methylparaben, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit/Leaf Extract, Propylparaben, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Allantoin, Dipropylene Glycol, Limonene, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Coumarin, CI 19140 (Yellow 5), CI 15985 (Yellow 6), CI 14700 (Red 4)

Macadamia oil is quite high up the list, considering this is a drugstore product.  But there are also a few products I am not so fond of. The only reason why Soap & Glory products smell amazing is the large amount of perfume that they contain. This also contains SLS and many of the truly helpful ingredients boasted about on the packaging are at the end of the list, if listed at all. If you’re looking for an all natural hand cream: this is not for you.

Using a hand cream is not rocket science, but with this it is recommended to top it up with a pair of gloves for a little extra help. The smell is described as fruity and I can subscribe to that claim. This has a very zesty smell to it, which is something you have to like. For me, it took some getting used to. Especially because this is recommended to be used as a night time moisturizer for your hands, the zesty smell is not the best I find. Zesty smells always have a tendency to wake me up rather than put me to sleep. My brain was very confused for the first week or so of use.

The texture of this product is absolutely lovely though. It is thick and creamy and a little goes a long way. I don’t think it necessarily is more moisturizing than Hand Food. I would rate them as equally nourishing. Just like Hand Food I go through a tube quite quickly, but I felt this lasted me a little bit longer than Hand Food as it has a thicker consistency and you need less to get similar results.

If it weren’t for the orange zest smell to this, I would now announce this my favorite hand cream of all time. The only reason why this has not kicked Hand Food from the top spot for me is the smell. I simply like the other smell much better and I find it very soothing before bed time, whereas this wakes me up. For that reason, this hand cream is not necessarily worth that extra pound. It does leave my hands silky soft and if you are looking for a good hand cream and don’t mind the scent, then be sure to pick this up.
