10x burgundy

It’s fall and a color that is very fall appropriate is burgundy. And luckily for all make up lovers out there, there are plenty of burgundy make up items to come by. Today I am showing you my favorites.

I have gathered 10 favorite burgundy make up products, from eyeshadows and lipsticks to nail polish. I even found out I had a burgundy gel liner, remember when that was all the rage? I like burgundy’s best as lipsticks or eye shadows but lately I haven’t been put off by a good dark red nail either. Let’s have a look at these products.

MAC Sketch
MAC Dark Diversion

We’re starting with some MAC products. Sketch is one of those eye shadows that everyone used to rave about but which has now falling off everyone’s radar. I love using this in the outer corner and the crease. And way back in the day, when MAC released Dark Diversion, pretty much the gel eyeliner version of Sketch, I knew I had to have it. As you can see that liner has seen a lot of love and I should bust it out some time again.

The Balm Nude Tude eye shadow palette Sexy

One of the reasons why The Balm’s Nude Tude eye shadow palette even appealed to me was because it features a seemingly gorgeous burgundy eye shadow by the name of Sexy. This one is a tad smoother and easier to apply than Sketch, without it blending very easily away. Even though I hardly use the palette, this one shadow is my only way for hanging on to it.

Catrice Velvet Matt Al Burgundy
Topshop Beguiled lipstick

A good budget alternative when it comes to burgundy eye shadow is Catrice’s Al Burgundy. Love the name and love the color even more. This isn’t as matte as the name might suggest, it still has a slight sheen to it, but it is a rich and intense shade that will put some high end brands to shame. Unfortunately, as you can see, mine broke. And it broke for no reason so I had to get rid of it as it just kept falling apart more and more. Beguiled is a great burgundy colored lipstick that looks a lot more dangerous in the bullet than it does on the lips.

Rimmel Kate 107
Flormar Deluxe Cashmere DC26

More lipsticks. For some reason burgundy lipsticks never look the same swatched or on the lips as they do in the packaging. However, everyone’s favorite is Rimmel’s 107 lipstick. This is a classic berry red shade that goes with anything and suits everybody. Another great pick is from Flormar. I have been meaning to do a full review on some of their lipsticks, but I never get round to it. This shade is similar to the Rimmel one, but the texture is creamier and shinier.

Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Crush
NYC in a New york Colour Minute Quick Dry nail polish in Canal Street
Maybelline Express Finish lacquer in Acid Plum

Of course we cannot leave out nail polish. I am in love with dark red nails at the moment and these three polishes suffice in that need. The Barry M one is fully matte, the Maybelline one is creamy and the NYC one has a bit of a sheen. Not sure the Maybelline one is still available as I have had that a long time. The Barry M shade is nice, but due to the matte finish, doesn’t last too long. My favorite thus have to be the NYC color: it is one of my go to nail colors for fall.

Time for some swatches! As you can see the lipsticks do not come anywhere near the eye shadows when it comes to intensity and darkness, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t as nice. I own some darker red lipsticks, but most dark red lipsticks I own are dark berry/ purple shades: not burgundy. So if anyone knows of the perfect burgundy lipstick: then let me know!
