One of my favorite beauty brands is The Body Shop. And not just for their body products. Oh no, my biggest love for TBS products aren’t their body butters and shower gels (though I love those too) but their skincare. TBS skincare was the first skincare I bought that worked for me that didn’t break me out. I must have tried every product of their Aloe Vera line for sensitive skin and I didn’t move on to other products, once I knew more about my skin and what it reacted to. By now, I have tried so many of their products that I thought I’d share a few of my favorites.
The Body Shop skincare favorites
As you can see there is a little bit of everything here and in tomorrow’s video you will see a few new products that I bought to try. The only product line of TBS skincare I have never tried anything from are the Seaweed and Tea Tree lines as they are formulated for different skin types than mine. My skin is dehydrated and sensitive. And that makes finding good skincare quite a feat. Even TBS skincare isn’t always foolproof, as I found out when I tried the Drops of Youth Eye Concentrate. Luckily for me, I tried more that did work and this is them.
Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream
Let’s start with an eye cream shall we? Not many people use eye cream, but I find I can’t live without it provided it does something for my skin while not being irritating. My skin gets dehydrated very easily and when it does, white milia crop up. They appear especially in my eye area and I have found that using a good moisturizer for the eye area makes them disappear. This was the first eye cream I tried that did that. It lasted me for ages and it helped my skin tremendously.
Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make Up Remover
This product isn’t one of my must haves to keep around at all times. However, it is one of my favorite products from The Body Shop. This make up remover is gentle while thorough at the same time. Unfortunately for this make up remover, that isn’t a unique quality. I find that there are many cheaper alternatives that have the same effect, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t a great product. It easily removes eye make up, even if it is waterproof and doesn’t leave behind a greasy layer. If you’re willing the spend the money then this is an excellent remover.
One of my most viewed blog posts? My review of the Aloe Calming Toner and cleanser. The cleanser I am no longer a fan of, as I now prefer oil cleansers over creamy ones, but the toner is still top of the list. Whenever I use this my skin feels refreshed and clean without that squeaky clean feel that tells you you’ve stripped away half the top layer of your skin. I feel I should start using this more again as a last step in my nightly skincare routine, but I find that micellar waters do a 2-in-1: they clean my skin and close my pores at the same time.
Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil
The Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil was again one of the first serums I tried that worked for me. It has a little pipette, just like the Estee Lauder one which is 8x more expensive. It makes my skin feel really soft and nourished and I can’t wait for my current serum to run out as I don’t like it as much as this (but it gets the job done, which is why I am forcing myself to use it up first before I start using this again). Be careful however, if you have slightly oily skin. I gave this to a friend and she got break outs after using this as it is a straight up oil. It may be just what my skin needs, especially in the winter months, but it may not be for you.
Aloe Soothing Night Cream
This night cream has been a favorite since 2012! This is actually the mini size jar which is long gone, but which I keep around as these little jars are great for traveling. I bought this as part of a travel set to try out some products and loved the night cream. I bought a full size and used up two jars, before feeling confident enough I could try other skincare. I now prefer other creams for my night time moisturizer, but this will forever be a favorite. It makes my skin feel nourished and moisturized without it feeling very heavy on the skin. In other words, it is just right.
