Tea haul: Twinings, Celestial Seasonings, English Tea Shop & Clipper

It’s that time of year again, where I refill my tea stash. I like keeping a decent amount of tea at hand during the winter season as it is pretty much all I’ll drink. Funnily enough, I discovered that I did a tea haul last year around the same time. I do have to say that I didn’t truly plan this out just yet, and there are some teas in here that I also bought last year. But seeing those are some of my favorites, I had to get those again. Curious to see what else I bought?

A few of the teas I bought, there’s more after the click

I got some of these teas online, but I also did some physical shopping. I am also still looking to repurchase some of my favorite Pukka three mint tea, as that is one of my favorites as well. I bought so much tea because I was running seriously low. I only had two packs left and since I always drink at least 3 or 4 teas simultaneously (as in, one for the morning, one for the afternoon, one for the evenings and one for work), I knew I had to stock up. I placed an order with Twinings, who do international shipping. All the other teas I bought at De Tuinen.

Twinings Cranberry green tea
Twinings Peach & Cherry Blossom green tea

What I was completely out of was green tea. I am not a big fan of pure green tea, but I like the flavored ones by Twinings. The cranberry combo is my favorite, so I got two packs of that. It has a little more bite to it and is a little sweet at the same time. The Peach & Cherry Blossom is another favorite of mine, but one I cannot drink all the time. At times I find it a little two sweet, but I do love a good peach flavored tea and this has been a staple for a while.

Twinings Intensely Double Mint
Twinings Intensely Butter Mint

One of the reasons why I love Twinings tea is that they have different lines in their range that are centered around a certain feature. They group all different kinds of tea together. So all the green tea is grouped, as are all the fruit & herbal teas. These two teas are from their herbal line and again are two of my favorites. The Double Mint is an intensely minty tea, which makes for a great after dinner or late afternoon pick me up. Butter Mint is one of my favorite morning teas. It has a good deal of mint in it too, but also features a buttery creaminess which makes this one of my favorite teas for starting my day.

Twinings Soothing Camomile & Honey
Twinings Salted Caramel green tea

On to two more specific teas. I love the Camomile & Honey tea. It is so so soothing and relaxing. It is one of my favorite teas for unwinding after a long and busy day. I am normally not a fan of camomile tea, but the added honey makes this a tad sweeter and the honey works very well with the camomile. I also tried their Camomile & Maple kind, but that just wasn’t as tasty as the honey blend. And then one of the more indulgent teas I like to drink: Salted Caramel green tea. When I first saw this I thought this couldn’t be any good, but as it turns out, it is a lovely drink. If tea could be a snack, this would be it.

Twinings Smokey Lapsang black tea
Twinings Merry Christmas Winter Spiced black tea

Black tea is something you will not find me drinking much. I like the Earl Grey they have at work which is a Lipton tea, but I don’t care for it much, especially if it comes with fruity flavors such as strawberry or forest fruit. However, when I drink black tea, I want it to be one I really like. Me and my friends are into Lapsang Souchon: a smokey, strong flavored black tea that is not for a faint of heart. Another favorite tea of my is the Whittard of Chelsea Spice Imperial loose leaf tea. Since that is running low as well, I decided to pick up the Christmas tea by Twinings, which sounds as if it may taste similar. It boasts an Assam blend with spice flavours, safflowes and orange peel. Plus I can always reuse the caddy when it runs out.

Clipper After Dinner Mints
English Tea Shop Refresh Me

In my case, the mintier the better would make a great slogan. So I had been curious about the Clipper After Dinner Mints for some time. This time I decided to get it. The Refresh Me tea by English Tea Shop is another staple in my tea collection and one I love to have at work. It is a blend that contains spearmint, eucalyptus and thyme and some lemon related ingredients.

Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra
Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Peach
Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime

Last but not least, I bought three different versions of Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime tea. The original is my ultimate favorite bed time tea and I hadn’t seen the other two before. So I am willing to try those. The Sleepytime extra boasts some added Valerian which is a herb that will help you sleep and is used often instead of melatonine for a more natural option. And if my favorite tea comes in a slightly different flavor, which happens to be one of the only fruity flavors that I like, I cannot pass it up.

What tea do you like to drink? Or are you more of a coffee person?
Fun fact: I just got a Nespresso machine, so I have been drinking coffee (!) every morning since this past week.
