Instanails #4

Where I used to do quick little posts every week on whatever I wore on my nails, I now use Instagram to show my nails of the day. It had been slow going on the nail polish front lately. My nails were dry and brittle and whatever I seemed to be doing, nail polish would last for just a day or two. Suddenly last week, my nails seemed much stronger and in better condition and now I am on the nail polish train again. To celebrate that fact, I thought it would be cool to post on overview of all the different nail looks I wore in the past 4 months or so.

Essie Loot the Booty (Summer 2016 Collection)

The polish that probably instigated my refound love for nail polish is Essie’s Loot the Booty. The minute I spotted this bright blue with blue micro shimmer I knew: I have to take you home. It is part of Essie’s latest nail polish collection, so if you like this, you’d better run out and get it while you still can. This applied very evenly and where most Essie polishes I have aren’t my favorite in formula, I was very impressed with how this wore and applied. It lasted a good 4 days on my nails.

China Glaze – Bing Cherry

One of my favorite reds? China Glaze’s Bing Cherry. I just love this color so much. It is just the perfect cherry red shade. The formula is nice, but on me China Glaze chips more easily than OPI or Essie does. Also, I wasn’t having a very good nail period when I wore this. So this mani lasted probably no more than a day or two.

Catrice Cha-KIRA

This is the oldest manicure in the bunch. I did this last February (?!) when I purchased some new Catrice products from their Spring/ Summer make up collection. Cha-KIRA was one of the new polish shades they launched and I loved it instantly. The formula of this was quite thick and covered in almost one coat. But my main love for this polish was the dusty rose shade with a hint of mauve. I love shades like this.

OPI Coca Cola Red

I’m so bummed I failed to pick this gorgeous red up in a full size! Because how stunning is that? OPI’s Coca Cola Red is quite possibly the most perfect classic red shade. I bought this 2 years ago as part of a travel edition mini pack which included most of the coca cola collection. Such a shame I cannot seem to find this anywhere anymore. If anyone has tips on where to find this full size, please let me know!

OPI I Am What I Amethyst

Another quite new addition to my nail polish collection were the OPI Soft Shades collection polishes. I Am What I Amethyst was one of my favorites and I purchased it in a full size. I also slapped it on my nails instantly. It looks very blue in this picture, but next to the baby blue that was also part of this collection, it pulls a lot more purple/ lavender like.

Essie Sunshine State of Mind

When I spotted Loot the Booty, I also picked up this. It had a 50% off sticker and I just loved the bright orange shade of this. Getting a good, flattering orange nail polish can be tough and this looks just perfect. It is a lot brighter in real life than it is in the picture. This was part of Essie’s 2016 Spring Collection, so I’m not sure you can still get this.

OPI One Chic Chick

My latest nail look was this pale yellow. Another polish from the Soft Shades collection which I love. A good pastel yellow is so hard to find. This is a lot lighter than China Glaze’s Lemon Fizz and where more yellows are streaky and not opaque, this applies like a dream. My first major chips didn’t occur until I had worn this for nearly 4 days.

OPI Aloha from OPI

We round up this blog post with another bright orangy red shade. In fact, it is a stunning bright coral shade that OPI released as part of their Hawaii collection. You can tell I have been loving orange, reds and coral for my nails lately with a dash of pastels and bright blues mixed in.

What nail polish shade have you been loving on your nails?
