Holy grail bodycare products

A couple of weeks ago, I recorded a video telling you all about my holy grail products. In the video I go over 10 particular beauty products that I love and swear by: from skincare to bodycare and from nails to lipsticks. Today I figured I would zoom into one of those categories. Because I have more than just one bodycare favorite. There is only one double in this post, the rest is all brand new, unless you’ve read my blog for some time: then you might recognize a few.

Top 5 bodycare items

If I were to pick a top 5 bodycare items, then they would have to be good. In short, these are all items I have used up multiple times, which I have multiple backups of if possible and which I keep coming back to. Even if I stray off my beaten path to try something new, I will always return these old favorites whenever possible.

The Body Shop Body Butter

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way first. This was the item also featured in my Holy Grail video. I love TBS body butter! It is simply one of those items I stock up on whenever they have a sale on (which is often!). The blueberry scent is one of my favorites, but so are the almond, shea butter and coconut scents. I especially like these in the body butter form as the scent lingers and are really soothing. Since I love lathering up some body butter before bed time, I prefer scents that aren’t too citrusy.

Pumice stone

On to a product that will never run out! I always keep some pumice stone in my shower. Most of the cheap ones break quite easily after a while, but I have had this one for a while and it works wonders still. I remember this not being cheap at all, but if it lasts you a good few years then why not right? My feet are easily calloused as I dance, work out and walk a lot in my daily life. So my feet can use a bit of extra love from time to time.

The Body Shop shower gel

Ah you knew some more TBS stuff had to be coming now didn’t you? As much as I love their body butters, my first TBS love were their shower gels. The Vineyard Peach scents is by far one of my favorites and it’s a shame you can only find this during the sales anymore. Where I like my body butters rich and soothing, I like my shower gels refreshing and fruity for the most part. Another favorite is the Pink Grapefruit and the now sadly discontinued Lemon scents.

A gentle scrub

I am not one for touch salt scrubs. I am not a fan of the sensation, and I find it difficult to find a scrub that is gentle enough for my sensitive skin, but which still has enough scrubbing action to actually do something. The scrubs that came in the Vanilla lines in past year TBS Christmas collections have been my favorites for some time. Not only do they come in a squeezy tube (ease of use!), the scent is amazing and the base product creamy and nourishing. The grains are still doing something, yet aren’t too harsh. I wish more brands would do something like this.

Lush Flying Fox

This relic of my beauty collection has to be used up asap as it is about to expire. Sadly, Flying Fox is no longer available from Lush, but I have been savoring using this last bottle I snatched up right before it left stocks for good. This is hands down the best pre-bed time shower gel I have ever tried. It is sweet and soothing, helps to relax sore and stressed muscles and even claims to help if you’re going through that time of the month. All I know is that whenever I use this, I sleep like a baby afterwards.

What are your favorite body care products?

  1. As a Body Shop fan, I must say that all my favourite body care products come from them. I loved Frosted Plum line from the last Christmas and I can’t say no to blueberry scented things.

  2. Love Flying Fox, jammer dat ‘ie uit de collectie is. Maar Lush kennende, brengen ze hem nog wel eens terug!

    • I loved Jergens when I lived in the US! It’s not available here I’m afraid. But I swear by good ole Nivea in the blue tin if we really deal with subzero temperatures.
