Favorite H&M pieces

If you follow my fashion blogs then you know that I love me a good deal of H&M. They aren’t the best from an ethical stand point, but I enjoy their clothing and from shopping there for years I now know what will and what won’t stand the test the time. Mainly because I own quite a few H&M items that I have had for years, I know that not all of it is simply fast fashion. Here are 11 items that have stood the test of time in my wardrobe.

Faux leather shorts

Sometimes there is this one off and H&M do something brilliant. Such as these shorts. I picked them up on a complete whim, but they have been in my wardrobe for years and I still enjoy wearing these from time to time. Unfortunately I didn’t fit them for a while, but I’ve been watching what I eat and working out regularly so that I can fit them again.

Red faux wrap skirt

I found this skirt while shopping with my mom one time a few years ago. It is quite structured and thus suck you in in all the right places. I simply adore the shade of this and it is a good staple to have.

Black midi skirt

H&M do these flared out midi skirts almost every year and I got mine when they first launched. I love the retro flare this gives and love pairing it with blouses and a bootie for that effortless chic look.

Beige & faux leather blazer

This blazer was an absolute great buy. It has truly made the rounds as it is so versatile. My favorite outfit with this blazer is over a burgundy skater dress and with my Zara studded brogues.

Boxy cream blouse

The H&M Trend collection isn’t one that I have many pieces off. In fact, this may very well be the only one. This cream, soft yellow piece fits me perfectly. It looks best tucked into skirts or those faux leather shorts I showed you above.

Lilac bib front sleeveless blouse

I think these sleeveless blouses come back every year and I had quite a few over the years. But one that stuck around is this lilac one. It works great layered under sweaters for a sweet touch, but on it’s own with a cardigan thrown over it can be a great center piece to an outfit. The lace bib detail of the blouse truly makes this a special one.

Wide fit turtleneck in mustard yellow

Mustard yellow is one of my favorite colors to wear during fall and when I found this boxy fit turtleneck last year I knew it would be a great fit. Paired with grey jeans and a black bootie it makes for one great effortless casual outfit that is comfortable to boot!

Orange knit sweater

I love H&M for knit sweaters. I think many of my favorites come from the Swedish retailer, but if I had to pick one favorite then I would go with this orange number I bought last year. They again do this type of sweater in different shades this time round. What I love about it is the fit and the ease of wear. I just layer a black or grey tank underneath and wear it with a pair of dark blue jeans and I’m good to go.

Grey knit cardigan

Now it is no secret I love myself a good cardigan and these knit cardigans are some of my favorites. Again, H&M brings these back every year in different colors. I have a beige one with gold metallic thread running through it and this grey one. These are some of the comfiest cardigans I own.

Black leather ankle boots

Did you know H&M do a premium line? I especially like some of the shoes from that line. They are a bit pricier, but it’s well worth the money. I bought these leather booties almost 2 years ago and they are some of the classiest shoes I own. What made me want these is the pointed toe and good sized heel. They are a pain to get on and off, but once on they are incredibly comfortable and add quite a bit of height.

Do you have any H&M pieces that have made the rounds in your wardrobe?

  1. I love their organic cotton t-shirts. I basically don’t wear anything else. Their t-shirt and a pair of jeans. It isn’t the most exciting combination but it sure is comfortable and care free 😊

  2. I haven’t shopped for clothes at H&M in ages. Your post is inspiring me to go have a look! I especially like the Boxy cream blouse and the 2 skirts. They look so much more expensive than they are!
