Instanails #7

With the Holidays fast approaching I’ve been enjoying doing my nails for then ever. I only have time to do them once I week, but when I do it, I make sure to take the time. I work out, have dinner, shower and then do my nails while watching some Youtube videos. I like to take my time, letting each layer dry well before moving on to the next and I have a nice relaxing cup of tea to help me relax and unwind after a long day. I mainly wore reds and blues/ teals this time around. Here are some of the nail looks I wore these past few weeks.

OPI Suzie Says Fengshui + Catrice Goldfather of Pearl

One of my oldest nail polishes is Suzie Says Fengshui by OPI. This was one of the first OPI nail polishes I ever bought now 5 or 6 years ago. But the polish is till going strong and I have been loving all things teal at this moment. Since it’s the winter season I also quite enjoy a bit of sparkle on my nails again too and I decked out my nails with a pearlescent sparkling top coat to add that extra oomph.

The OPI Limited Edition collections that have been coming out lately have been quite underwhelming. There are many shades that are being released that I feel I already own, but in their latest Washington collection for fall 2016 I did find two polishes I like. We The Female is a stunning deep red cream that goes on so smoothly and lasts a long time too.

Essie Udon Know Me

Essie’s collections on the other hand have been more up my street. Their latest collection inspired by Japan, had some pretty polishes and I opted for Udon Know Me. This minty blue shade is a little something different for fall as it quite pastel. Because of the blue undertone to this, I feel this polish works well as it has that icy feel to it that goes well with the colder weather.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Chilli

The only affordable nail polish in the mix! Barry M is one of my favorite brands when it comes to nail polish and Chilli is such a stunning shade for fall/ winter. It is not too dissimilar from MAC’s Chili lipstick: a warm, orange toned red that has plenty of brown to it. Not only does this shade look stunning on the lips, but also on the nails.

OPI CIA = Color is Awesome

The shade from OPI’s fall 2016 Washington collection I knew I had to get was CIA = Color is Awesome. This incredibly deep teal is deep and vampy but without it being too over the top. I can’t wait to wear this with a gold top coat as I think this will be a great polish for adding a bit of bling.

Last but not least, there is a polish from the San Francisco collection. I very randomly picked this up from a sale bin and it’s been one of my favorite reds to wear in fall/ winter. It is a touch more muted and less vibrant than Barry M’s Chili but it i therefore also less in your face and very wearable for a red.

What have you been wearing on the nails?

  1. […] OPI We The Female – A deep red cream polish, this was part of the limited edition Keri Washington collection. That collection was filled with stunning deep shades. Some I love to wear in the fall time, but this is great for the winter time. This pairs well with many deeper red lipstick shade without being too matchy. A perfect winter look. […]

  2. […] Essie Udon Know Me – Part of Essie’s Fall 2016 collection, this polish is a great example of a pastel blue shade. It has quite a bright undertone, depending on how the light hits it. It therefore has that hint of freshness, but it never looks quite like a mint. It has a bit of an icy undertone, but that is why it is a great one for the spring time. […]
