If there is one time of the year that is perfect for a luxury make up splurge it’s the Holiday season. Personally I love bringing out my luxury make up for Christmas and New Year’s make up looks. I don’t know why I don’t wear them more on the regular, but the hefty price tag probably has something to do with it. One of my favorite luxury make up brands is Charlotte Tilbury and I have a few new bits by her to review.
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes mascara
Charlotte Tilbury The Vintage Vamp eyeshadow quad
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat lip pencil
Charlotte Tilbury Bond Girl Matte Revolution lipstick
I already reviewed some Charlotte Tilbury products before. My first purchase was the Dolce Vita eyeshadow palette which I love. Then I decided to try some of her lipsticks and fell in love with the Matte Revolution formula. I seriously have never tried a matte lipstick like it and her lip pencils are also lovely. With is all well and done because an eyeshadow palette will cost €50, a lipstick €30 and a lip pencil €22. With price tags this big, the products better be great.
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes mascara
Let’s start this review with a closer look at a free sample I received with purchase. The Legendary Lashes mascara is one that many people seem to love. The brush is big and the bristles humongous. Therefore the effect of this mascara is dramatic and full. And while I like a full lash, unfortunately I found this mascara to be flaky and not very long lasting on my lashes. Great for a night out, not so great for a full working day. I am wearing this mascara in the eye look which you can find later on in this post.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat lip pencil
Pillow Talk must be one of Charlotte Tilbury’s most famous products. It is supposedly the best nude lip pencil on the market and I concur. I am not much of a lip pencil kinda girl, but the Charlotte Tilbury lip pencil are a game changer. These are some of the creamiest liners on the market and are so easy to use and go perfectly with the different shades of lipstick in the line.
Charlotte Tilbury Bond Girl Matte Revolution lipstick
I already owned two Matte Revolution lipsticks, but I had been eyeing up Bond Girl for a while. A browny nude with a pinky undertone this is one of those shades that looks hideous in the tube, yet gorgeous on the lips. What makes this one of the top market lipsticks to me are the uniquely shaped lipstick bullet and the formula. This lipstick will glide onto your lips like butter but stays put 5 – 6 hours without touch ups and does not dry out the lips.
Swatches never lie they say and here you cannot only see how perfectly Pillow Talk and Bond Girl go together, but also how lovely these shades are. This makes for a great everyday lip combo and that is how I love wearing this. This must be one of my most worn lipsticks of 2016.
On the lips, this combo doesn’t look as brown as in the tube/ pencil. I feel it pulls quite pink on me, but it isn’t a harsh pink. More like a dusty rose with a warm undertone. I find it very flattering on and this is one of the most comfortable everyday matte lip look to wear.
Charlotte Tilbury The Vintage Vamp eyeshadow quad
On to eyeshadow! The Dolce Vita is one of my favorite ‘special occasion’ palettes. Yet originally I had thought the Vintage Vamp quad would be my favorite. It looked a bit bland in the pan to me though, which is why I opted for the warmer and darker counterpart.
How wrong I was! Vintage Vamp is again a great everyday palette, but also has a special touch. Not just because of that gold shimmer in the left bottom hand corner. In fact, my favorite shade here must be that shimmering pinky purple just above it. What’s best is that these shades blend like a dream and are so goof proof to apply. I could create a look with these in my sleep.
The swatches here may seem underwhelming, but if you look at the make up look I created below, you will see that these shades pack enough of a punch to create a great eye look. As mentioned the shimmery pink is my favorite here, but all the colors gel so well together and complement one another so nicely it just shows how well thought through this make up is.
There is in face a system behind the use of this quad: the light shimmering pink should go all over the eye; the shade next to it, the matte mauve, should enhance the eye; and the darkest shade should be used to smoke things out. The glitter is for adding a pop of interest to the look, and in a way this palette can be used to easily go from a day to night make up look.
To create this eye look, I used the shadows as indicated on the packaging. I popped the glitter in my inner corner for some added sparkle, which is subtle yet, effective in the overall look. I love how with this palette, you have a fairly neutral eye when you look straight ahead, yet there is a darker, much smokier look ‘hidden’ which only pops out when you look down.
The purple/ mauve/ rose tones of this palette suit my eyes very well I think and I find this to be a lot more wearable than the Dolce Vita. More wearable also constitutes a little bit more boring, but I think this is a great palette for wearing to a work place where obvious make up is a no go.
Why do I have to love such expensive make up?! Gah! Not only are these products lovely, they last and work marvelously well. These products may be boring to some, but for me I love creating simple yet classy make up looks with these for special occasions. I would hate racing through a €50 eyeshadow quad on a daily basis, but for special occasions I think these products are the best option on the market today.

Merry Christmas to you too! Thanks for all your comments these past few months. Greatly appreciated.
Prachtig! Alleen aardig aan de prijs inderdaad haha. Wel een leuk verwenmomentje.
Precies.
😉 Goed gedaan! Fijne feestdagen!
Dank je! Jij ook Fijne Feestdagen.
I love charlotte tilbury! I have all of these products except the vintage vamp palette and now I want that! Joanna xxx
They do some lovely products indeed.
I just love the design of the lipstick tubes from CT. I have one, in the shade Bitch Perfect. 😛
The eye shadow quad is “boring” but we all know those are the BEST types of shades because you’ll be able to wear them all the time. I have the CT quad in Sophisticate and it’s an all matte one. I found some of her shimmers to be a bit over the top for my liking.
I love the shimmer accent these give. But then again I don’t shy away from a good shimmery shadow any day of the year.
Love this look! And CT is a great Brand! Love her lipsticks
Agreed, they are some of the best.
Your makeup looks amazing! I love the colours and how they make your features pop! 🙂 I have never tried the brand before but it definitely looks like a perfect brand to have in your makeup drawer 🙂
Thank you! I really enjoy their make up.
