I don’t usually fangirl over a makeup look,  but this month… Oh boy! Let me tell you: I have found the perfect fall time look. It’s a bit bright and daring, but I think this is such a fun look and it suits my complexion quite nicely I think. Which is why I have included the look in pictures, so that you have an idea of how it all comes together.

The products I used are very fall appropriate. I changed up the lip color a few times, but it always fell in the magenta/ deep pink region. And I’m obsessed! I have been loving this look so much that I did it at least 5 times in the past few weeks. That is quite something for someone who NEVER repeats a makeup look. So what products did I use? Compared to last month’s look, there are quite a few changes.

For foundation, I have been using the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation, which I love for this time of year. It is the perfect foundation for my skin tone at the moment and it wears well on days that are sometimes cold and stuffy all at the same time. I round off my base with the Catrice Liquid Camouflage concealer and MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.

For brows I have only been using my trusty Essence Make Me Brow. This is such a great product! And now that I have let my brows grow out to their natural shape, I find they don’t need much filling in and I just go with a bit of a tinted brow gel to give them a bit more shape.

Of course I am also trying some new products. I ran out of my Urban Decay Primer Potion and so I am now trying out the Milani Eyeshadow Primer. The verdict is still out on that one, but so far I’m liking it. I round off my eyeshadow base with my trusty MAC Paintpot in Painterly and a The Body Shop eyeshadow that is my favorite, but has long since been discontinued.

The real star of the show however, is the eye look. Like I said this look is quite daring, but I think it works. To create this, I’ve been using the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette and then mainly the ‘scary’ colours. This look incorporates all three of the reddish/ pink shades in the palette. And the best part?! I only use one brush to do pretty much everything!

Here’s how I do it:

I take some Venetian Red on a fluffy Real Techniques Base Shadow brush and apply this to my moving lid. I only dab the brush lightly into the pan to avoid overapplication and fall out. I gently build it up to full intensity. To blend this out and I apply Love Letter to the crease. I blend that out with a different fluffy brush and a bit of Golden Ochre and a little bit of Tempera on the brow bone.

Vermeer is my favorite inner corner highlight shade to I always apply that when doing this look. Then I take some Red Ochre and smudge that on the lower lashline. Then I go in with a bit of Antique Bronze or Cyprus Umber (depending on how daring I feel that day) to deepen up the Outer V. Finish off with my new favorite mascara the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes and that’s it!

The rest of the makeup is quite straight forward. I’ve been back into contouring and I’ve been using my fave bronzer/ contour combo to get the job done. For bronzer, I’ve been using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light. Then I go in with some of the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil bronzer for a bit of a light contour on an ELF Small Stipple Brush. As my highlight I’ve been loving the LA Girl Strobe Lite in 110 Watt. The finishing touch is a bit of my Physician’s Formula Happy Booster blush and YSL Rouge Pur Couture Fuchsia Fétiche lipstick.

And the best part? I took these pictures after I got home from work. This makeup had been on my face for almost 12 hours by the time I took these pictures. The only thing I touched up? My lipstick! If that isn’t a longlasting makeup look, then I don’t know what is!

What makeup have you been wearing this month?
