Spring lipsticks

This week I thought I would do an extra beauty blog post for you. I thought we could talk about some of my favorite lipsticks to wear in the summer time. Think pink, coral and just all the bright goodness anyone could wish for. I have selected 6 lipsticks: 3 high end and 3 more affordable options that I absolutely adore for the spring time.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks Carina – Not everyone loves it, but I love the Anastasia Liquid Lipstick formula. It is one of my favorites. Carina was the first shade I got from the line and it is such a great, bright, juicy looking color. I would describe this as a true watermelon: it isn’t quite coral, not quite pink and not quite red. It is just such a lovely shade that makes for a fun, bold statement.

Dior Rouge Dior Couture Colour Voluptuous Care 757 Souveraine – I haven’t bought a Dior lipstick for such a long time. However, for a while it was all I would wear. And at that time, I bought this creamy, shimmery pink lipstick. This definitely has silver shimmer particles in it and I love the look of it. What I don’t love is that as the color wears down, the shimmer is left. So it isn’t my favorite anymore, but man, that pink shade is stunning and this is so comfortable on the lips too.

MAC Amplified Impassioned – Let’s just throw in my favorite MAC lipstick for the spring time shall we? Impassioned was one that I looked at and new would look good on me. Nine out of ten times when people ask me what I am wearing on my lips, and I am wearing a pinky coral it is this. It was one of those shades that I threw on when I spotted it in store and even the MUA was like: you need to get that. It has been one of my favorite MAC lipsticks since.

Milani Matte lipsticks Orchid – Not only a great lipstick on its own, but also because it is a great formula compared to so many other lipsticks in the drugstore. Milani Matte lipsticks are just that. I especially love Orchid in the spring time. It is that bold, in your face blue toned pink that pulls a touch purple on me. I love how bright this is and it looks great with a clean eye and a bit of liner and a very minimal look and than just this bright pop of pink.

ELF Matte Lip Color Hot Commodity – This is one I haven’t gotten round to reviewing just yet, but it is a good one. These lipstick pens by ELF are great and this coral shade is one of the very few true coral shades that looks good on me. It is a tad on the sheer side for me though so I do have to build it up, but it is a great one that is easy to throw on and you’re out the door. It is also very comfortable to wear like the Dior lipstick.

Milani Amore Mattallics lip color Dramatic Diva – I haven’t reviewed this exact shade, but I did review the other shades I got from this line. It is such a shame these were limited edition and now harder to find. Dramatic Diva is a bright, in your face fuchsia shade. It is brighter than Orchid and that is caused by the metallic particles in this. As this dries this lightens and then it just lights up your entire face. It is stunning.
