Shop my Stash | May 2018

What makeup products did I use this month? Well these ones mostly! And there are quite a few products here that I am a) about to use up, b) have used up this month OR that are completely new to my makeup routine. In short, we have lots to talk about, so let’s get to it.  shop my stash may 2018

Shop my Stash May 2018

Too Faced White Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette – This month revolved around a new eyeshadow palette for me. I purchased this when I was in London after praying I would still be able to find it. Luckily I did and this is a pale girl’s eyeshadow dream. I have yet to review it, but I hope to get around it some time soon.

Essence Instant Matt setting spray – Another item that I still have to review, but that so far, I’ve been loving! The Essence matt setting spray has surprised me quite a bit. I find this works very well indeed but I do want to give it a few more weeks before I add this to my reviewing pile. Setting sprays can be a bit flaky depending on the weather, but so far it has made my makeup last okay.

Catrice Glamour Doll Waterproof mascara – Even though mascara is the most sold makeup item, it’s the one I like reviewing the least. This mascara isn’t one I even wear on its own. Rather, I throw this on on top of my regular mascara to waterproof it and make it last longer. After using the Maybelline one, I thought it was time to try something cheap and cheerful and truth me told, this gets the job done just fine.

Bobbi Brown setting powder – This product is one that has featured in many of these Shop my Stash blog posts. In fact, I think it may have featured in all of them. I’ve been using this powder for months and I am quite sick of it by now. I just want to use this up so badly and move on to something else. However, I want to soldier on and use up before I do so.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil bronzer – A staple in my makeup collection is this bronzer by Too Faced. I only just now realized how many Too Faced products I was using this past month. I rediscovered this in my stash after I used it in a video at the beginning of the month and decided to keep on using it. I have decided I am not a fan of this all over my face, but it makes for a great bronzed look in more targeted areas.

Too Faced Born this Way foundation – The foundation pick of this month was the Too Faced Born This Way foundation. I have this in the shade Snow, which used to be the lightest shade, but it is not all that light. Which is why I have only just now been able to use it. Luckily, Too Faced just released an even lighter shade, which may be closer to my winter shade.

Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer – I have two concealers to show you this month. I’ve been digging doing a very quick and easy makeup on days off or on some of the hotter days we’ve had so far. There is nothing more I hate than a full face of makeup when it is absolutely sweltering. A touch of concealer will do and I have been using this for doing just that.

Make Up Revolution Conceal & Define concealer – The other concealer I’ve been using is this concealer by Make Up Revolution. It was THE hype of the beautywebs when everyone decided to boycot Tarte after their shady response to the Shape Tape foundation release. And I have to say: I love this concealer. So much so, that I already used this up and had to pull it from my bin of empties.

Milani eyeshadow primer – Another month, the same primer. I have been loving this. I just came to realize that I forgot to add my face primer, but that is still the Too Faced Hangover RX primer. That primer combo has been working great for me, so it doesn’t hurt mentioning it again.

Bobbi Brown corrector – And another steady use product is my Bobbi Brown correct. Look at that pan?! I love how much progress I am making on this and I hope to be able to use it up in the next few months.

MAC Velvet Teddy – The very first lipstick I ever bought from MAC? Velvet Teddy and I am still loving it. I got this WAY before the hype and it took a while for me to fall absolutely in love with it. Since I have been trying to be good and wear more color on my eyes in 2018, neutral lipsticks such as these have been an absolute musthave.

Milani Afterglow highlighter – For highlighter I decided to go back to one of my favorites at the drugstore. The Milani highlighters are stunning and I very much enjoy wearing this. This is the lightest shade they do and I love how it makes for a nice glowy cheek look.

Benefit Coralista blush – An oldie but a goodie! I decided to pull out Coralista by Benefit. I hadn’t worn that blush in ages as it is more of a summer color for me. So now that summer is nearing, I thought I’d bust it out again. And I completely fell in love with it all over again. When your blush has a huge dent in it, then you know you love it and that’s exactly what this powder has.

Essence Make Me Brow brow gel – I repurchased another old favorite and that is this cheap and cheerful Essence brow gel. Why I love it so much? Because it is fuss free and easy to use. The spoolie is nice and small and the product itself is pretty much amazing.

Soap & Glory Archer brow pencil – In terms of old favorites this is another firm favorite to add to that list. In fact, I used this up the day I took this picture and this is the fourth one of these pencils that I have used up. Such a shame you can only get this abroad, but if you have a store selling Soap & Glory makeup near you, then I highly recommend checking out this pencil.

MAC Paintpot & TBS eyeshadow – We’re finishing the blog post with my two staples for a solid eye base: the paintpot is still going strong, but I am still thinking I may hit pan on it any day now. The shadow is nearly done. It has shattered into pieces and I keep losing bits, but again, I would love to use it up till the very last dusting of powder before I throw it in my empties bin.

What makeup have you been wearing this month?

  1. Ahhh the one chocolate bar I don’t have. Also, I had actually pulled a few palettes I wanted to show more love to and they are saints and sinners, all three sephora Pro palettes and the violet boss drenched metals/holy grail.

    Seems like a lot.
