Blush, bronzer, highlight: without it a makeup look just isn’t complete. And I may be a little late to the bandwagon with this blush, but since it is summer time, I cannot pass up showing you this Too Faced Love Flush Blush. That’s a mouthful, but it is a seriously great blush to have. I have two of them and today I am showing you the brightest of the two, as I love wearing shades like this in the summer time.
Too Faced Love Flush Blush
How Deep Is Your Love
First up I need to address the fact that everyone seems to think these are being discontinued. They are available online in plenty of places still, so I don’t think they are going anywhere yet. Too Faced only launched in The Netherlands in recent months and these blushes are still available through the retailer that sells the brand here (Douglas). Another thing you should know is that these blushes do not come cheap. They are €28.99 a pop, which makes this quite an expensive blush.
The Packaging
With Too Faced products, the packaging can often be quite kitschy and this is definitely so. This reminds me a lot of a Polly Pocket I used to have when I was little. However, the heart shaped packaging is also quite cute and the mirror in the lid is an extra bonus. What makes this blush even more special is the embossed print on the product itself. It almost makes you not want to use the product.
The Product
As far as I know all of the Love Flush blushes are completely matte, which is great, if, like me, you prefer to layer your cheek products and wear a separate highlight anyway. I mostly only bother with shimmery blushes in the summer time that can do a three-in-one. The rest of the year? I’m wearing a matte blush. I wear blush to add a pop of color to the cheek, no more, no less and that is exactly what this product does.
The Swatch
Apologies for the very random swatch on the left, but it’s that gorgeous watermelon color in the middle that is the star of today’s show. Because How Deep is Your Love is exactly that: a gorgeous bright watermelon pink with a hint of red. While this may look quite scary and intense in the pan, you can see here that the color is bright but it is also quite sheer.
You may think: but that is terrible pigmentation! Well, I would beg to differ, as with a blush especially one this bright, you don’t want too much pigment. With a very pigmented blush this could easily turn you into a clown and we don’t want that look. Instead, this blush is super easy to build up, blends beautifully on the skin and I love this shade on my complexion in the summer time.
The Application
Applied to the face, this blush gives a beautiful flushed look. A, I just came in from the cold/ I got a bit of a sunkissed look, which is beautiful year round. However, I prefer wearing this in the summer when I am a bit more tan. Paired with a load of bronzer, this gives a nice healthy look to the skin and it layers well over other cheek products. It also stays all day, which is an added bonus, but I usually do not deal much with fading cheek products.
The Conclusion
The Too Faced Love Flush Blush in How Deep is Your Love is one of my favorites for the summer time. It is a fun bright shade that works well if you are fair skinned. As it isn’t too intense, you can easily build this up and I think this would look stunning on deeper complexions as well. In short, a great blush that deserves more love.
