Lush Honey I Washed My Hair

I have tried Lush shampoo bars in the past, but never used them exclusively for some time. Then I discovered Seanik and I loved it so much that I kept repurchasing it. But after using if for some time, I found it a bit too drying on my hair. When I asked the sales assistant for another suggestion, she recommended Honey I Washed My Hair. How did I get on with this solid shampoo? lush honey I washed my hair review swatch

Lush Honey I Washed My Hair Shampoo Bar

In case you have never heard of shampoo bars before: they are a solid shampoo. It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do you will love it. The idea is that you can pretty much go without any packaging if you have one of the tins that Lush sells. You can clean them between uses and they will keep your product safe and protected.

In terms of price, I think they are very reasonable. This retails for about €10 a piece. You of course still need to add in the price of the tin, but that will work itself out once you use this over a longer time as you only buy it once and reuse it over and over again. Lush sells several of these shampoo bars and they are all around the same price. So find one that meets your hairy needs and you will have a great, affordable shampoo that is pretty much zero waste.

What I like about a shampoo bar is that it lasts much longer than a normal liquid shampoo. You may not think so from looking at it, but you get a lot of uses out of this. It is imperative you take care of the product though. Once you’ve used it, it helps you use this product for longer if you dry it down and make sure it dries down well before you use it again.

Honey I Washed My Hair has been great for my hair so far. It foams up nicely, just like Seanik and it cleans my hair well. But what I loved about Seanik and what I love about this as well is that it gives my hair a nice little lift and adds volume. Seanik gives more volume, but that was a bit too drying on my hair after lots of regular uses. Honey I Washed My Hair is much more nourishing.

The honey in the shampoo is nourishing and it has some refreshing ingredients as well. This shampoo is lightweight and adds softness and shine to my hair as well as cleaning it well. I love how there aren’t too many ingredients as well. How to use? I just rub the bar gently along my hair, but mostly on my scalp. It foams up instantly and the scent is very sweet but pleasant. If you like Lush’ classic Honey I Washed the Kids soap, you will like this as the scent is very close to that.

Would I recommend this shampoo bar? Yes I most definitely would. This shampoo is gentle enough and doesn’t strip my hair, while still cleansing and nourishing my hair at the same time. I like it so much that I am already on to my second bar of this.

  1. I’ve tried different Lush shampoo bars before and I loved them. I haven’t tried this one though but I definitely will now. Great Post!

  2. I’ve used a couple of the bars. 1 I can’t remember the name of & don’t believe they make anymore & currently Seanik! I know what you mean about it being drying. I definitely don’t skip conditioner with this one. I plan to pick up another bar of something a little more softening on my next go.
