10x Purple

When a certain color comes up as a trend, it doesn’t just suffice to talk about eyeshadow palettes. Because colors do not have to stop at eyeshadows. Purple, being the IT-color of the moment is a color that is especially suited to be worn on different parts of the face. Purple blush? No problem. Purple highlight? Again, stunning if it suits your skintone. But also on the lips, a good purple tone can be incredibly stunning. Today I am showing you 10 purple makeup items that are some of my favorites.  10x purple

10 X Purple

Urban Decay Vice eyeshadow palettes – Urban Decay’s house color is purple for a reason. I think that if there is one brand that does purple eyeshadow right it is Urban Decay. Some brands struggle formulating good purples, but Urban Decay has never had any problems with that. The purples in the Vice palettes especially are outstanding which is why I had to include it here.

Beauty UK Posh palette Galaxy – One of my first purple palettes was this budget friendly palette. Sadly, the pigmentation isn’t the best, but for a long time it was the only purple palette in my collection. By now I have found palettes that have much better quality that are a perfect replacement for this one.

MAC Blush Azalea Blossom – This limited edition MAC blush was a one time shot. It had sold out everywhere in The Netherlands and then I bumped into it in the MAC store in Covent Garden. If you are interested in something similar than Wet N Wild blush In A Purple Haze will give you a similar effect for a fraction of the price.

Colourpop Supershock highlighter Hippo – I did a full video earlier this year about my love for purple toned highlighters. My first love in that category? This Colourpop number. It is a bit difficult to work with, but once you find a good way to apply it, it is a stunning highlighter for fair skin tones with a cool or neutral undertone.

L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow Perpetual Purple – Who remembers these cult classics? These have been discontinued in Europe, but in the US the Infallible shadows are still for sale. I used to own many shades, but only hung on to the colorful ones in the end. This is one of the best purple eyeshadows in my collection. Hands down.

Kiko Bright Duo Baked eyeshadow 12 Metallic Lavender & Pearly Amethyst – If there is one brand that flies under the radar it is Kiko. They definitely need more recognition, starting with their eyeshadows. They do some stunning shades and this baked duo eyeshadow is one that is incredibly fun as it features two different shades of purple that pair super well together.

MAC Rebel lipstick – Lips can perhaps be the most daring product when it comes to purples. One way to ease yourself into it is to wearing purple lipstick is to start with berries. And then of course the more purple leaning ones. Rebel by MAC is one such lipsticks. It is a bit more daring but nothing too crazy yet.

LA Splash Smitten liquid lipstick Belladonna/ Bellatrix – If your lipstick choices are a bit more daring, you can always go for a blue tone with a strong purple undertone. Belladona by LA Splash is not for a faint of heart and not something I would wear to work, but it is a stunning shade nevertheless.

Colourpop Ultra Satin liquid lipstick Hutch – Hutch by Colourpop is another one that is more daring, but not because of how bright this shade is, but how dark it is. This is quite possibly one of the darkest purple lipsticks I own that doesn’t look black on me. Purples make for some great vampy lip colors and perfect for this time of year.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohl Kajal 013 Purple – Last but not least, purple is a great color to wear as an eyeliner. The easiest way to incorporate some purple in your look is by adding a bit of kohl liner on your lower lash line or smudged on the top lash line. It is subtle, yet still allows you to incorporate a trend color in your makeup routine. This one by Rimmel is especially great.
