It’s official: fall is here and that means I am changing up my makeup routine. In the colder months, I start using a richer base, other tones on my eyes and cheeks and my lips are more often sporting a vampy berry shade. October shows that transition nicely. I was still using a light base, but the colors on my eyes were based around two new eyeshadow palettes and a rich plum based nude lip color. So we are making that transition nicely. Here are the products I used for my everyday makeup look in October.
Shop my Stash | October 2018
Urban Decay Naked Cherry eyeshadow palette – This past month two new eyeshadow palettes came out, so that is what I focused on using. First up is the Urban Decay Naked Cherry palette. A great berry toned palette. I already briefly mentioned it in my Urban Decay Naked palette video and I will be reviewing it for you shortly, so I’m not going to say much more about this.
Too faced Gingerbread Spice eyeshadow palette – The other palette I got my hands on is the new, limited edition Gingerbread Spice palette by Too Faced. Again something that will be featuring in an upcoming video and review, so I am not going to share my thoughts on it too much. But let’s just suffice to say that this has some very unique shades that work very well.
Catrice Prime and Fine Fixing spray – My current fixing spray of choice is this Catrice one. I had it for some time, but never used it. Until now. And again I have found a good budget setting spray. I like this as much as the Essence one I was using before. I am liking this equally and it works just as well.
NYX HD Banana powder – I gave this face powder a rave review during the course of October. It is one that really surprised me. It is a good yellow powder if you have pale skin. Many banana powders are too dark, but this is spot on shade wise and I love how soft the texture is. This never looks cakey and sets my makeup in place.
Essence Make me Brow brow gel – Do I need to say anything else about this brow gel? I nearly repurchased one already, but decided to hold back as I still have some other brow gels to try. But yeah, you know you love a product if you keep repurchasing it don’t you?
Maybelline Brow Satin brow pencil – This is nearly running out and I can’t wait. While I like it, I don’t think I’d purchase it again. As I have used this more and more, I find the nib to be a bit too thick and the shade of the product a touch too warm for my liking.
Catrice Fresh it Up Hydrating primer – My new primer of choice is this one by Catrice. I really like it. I nicely hydrates my skin, makes my make up last and works well all day. It applies easily and best of all: it’s very affordable.
MAC Paintpot Painterly & The Body Shop eyeshadow no. 13 – This combo is still going strong, but the Paintpot is running very low. I am hoping to use it up before the end of the year is up.
Milani eyeshadow primer – Another product that is running low. This is on its last legs quite suddenly. I really like it and I have found it at an affordable price point on Beauty Bay so I think I may repurchase it as some point. However, for now, I still have some other eye primer left that I want to use first.
MAC Mehr lipstick – For lips I went back to an OG favorite. Mehr used to be my go to and I decided to go back to it again for the transitional fall season. This color was just right for what I was looking for. It paired beautifully with the eyeshadow palettes and worked well with every look I created with them.
Essence Matt Touch blush – A blush that wowed me when I finally tried it is the Essence Matt Touch blush. I had never tried these simple yet affordable Essence blushes. This one worked so well and the shade is spot on.
Becca Sunlit bronzer – If you’re on the hunt for a great bronzer and have some money to spare, then trying the Becca Sunlit bronzer is something I would recommend. The lightest shade is light enough for my fair skin and they also come in some darker shades as well.
Annabelle Perfect Glow highlighter – I reviewed this last week and was pleasantly surprised by all the Annabelle highlighters I got from Stashy. The Perfect Glow one a bit more than the others, which is why I ended up using it all month.
Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation – For my base I still kept everything nice and lightweight. I really like this Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation. It blends easily, stays put nicely and looks great on the skin. If you need coverage, this is not for you, but if you are like me and a lightweight, dewy finish, this is one of the best foundations I’ve tried.
Maybelline Age Rewind concealer – Of course I also used concealer. I decided to keep on using my Maybelline Age Rewind one. I’m still not sold on the packaging, but while I have plenty of concealers in my collection, I liked the quality enough to keep using it for another month.
L’Oreal False Lash Butterfly Wing mascara (not pictured) – Lastly, there is mascara, which I forgot to include in the picture. But it is the same one I used last month.
