The new Catrice products are here and there were so many great ones. So there are loads of reviews coming your way. Today we are getting started with a review of the 5 new lipstick products that I bought to try. There are four different lip products here and one I have in two shades. Let’s go!
Catrice Spring/ Summer 2019 Lipsticks
- Power Plumping Gel lipstick 030 Speak Up! & 090 The Future is Femme
- Beautifying Lip Balm 020 Fashion Mauvement
- Generation Plump & Shine 040 Dusty Rose Quartz
- Generation Matt 050 Danger Lips
All of these products are of course quite affordable. The lip balm retails for €3.59. The other lipsticks are €3.99 a piece. So we are getting off on the right foot.
Each of these lipsticks has some great packaging. I think that Catrice mostly does packaging very well. These definitely do not look cheap, while the brand is affordable. Each product is still clearly visible too and the packaging isn’t overly bulky, which I appreciate.
Catrice Beautifying Lip Balm 020 Fashion Mauvement
I am not a huge fan of tinted lip balms, but nevertheless I try them because I know plenty of people like lightweight, easy to wear lipsticks. The minute I spotted these, I knew I wanted to try this shade as it really seems to be a ‘my lips but better kind of shade’. And it is. This doesn’t last too long on the lips, but it is a good, nourishing lip balm with a hint of color. If this is your cup of tea, then I would highly recommend this.
Catrice Power Plumping Gel lipstick 030 Speak Up! & 090 The Future is Femme
The product that intrigued me the most from all the new lip products that were released were the Power Plumping Gel lipsticks. These are supposed to be shiny, plumping lipsticks that feel very comfortable on the lips. They seemed a bit sheer when I saw some swatches online, so I got two shades to try.
I really like the look of these lipsticks. On one side of the lipstick there is the brand name, on the other side it says be brave. The bullet has a nice edge to it which allows you to be very precise. I was also surprised with the opaqueness of the shades ones I tried these on. They are not as sheer as they seemed at first as you will be able to see down below. They are quite balmy in texture so they don’t have the longest wear time, maybe 4 – 5 hours tops, but it is decent enough.

Catrice also released a new lipgloss and a new liquid lipstick. I am not a gloss fan but this looked interesting online, but I was a bit disappointed with the lipgloss. It feels very thick and sticky: there is a string of product when you pull the wand out of the tube and it is just not as great. I also thought this has a bit of sparkle to it but it does not and I don’t find it very plumping either.
The liquid lipstick was a bigger surprise. Catrice has released several liquid lipsticks so far and none really were up my street. This one is! It is not the longest wearing, but as far as liquid lipsticks go this is one of the most comfortable ones on the market. I’d say this lasts around the 4 – 5 hour mark. It does dry down, but it stays feeling soft and comfortable and it keeps your lips looking nice as well.
The order in which I swatches these is the order in which I showed you the products above. So on the left is the lip balm, which is the sheerest formula. Then we get the two Power Plumping Lipsticks which to me were really surprising as they went on opaque. The gloss even looks a bit gloopy in the swatch, so you can see why I am not a fan of that one. The last one here is the liquid lipstick and I love that shade. It is such a nice dark brown with a red undertone.
Catrice Beautifying Lip Balm 020 Fashion Mauvement
As you can see this lip balm makes your lips look more even and it fills up some lines, but other than that this is just a tinted lip balm.
Catrice Generation Plump & Shine 040 Dusty Rose Quartz
This is the gloss applied to my lips over the lip balm. As you can see it really doesn’t make much of a difference. I don’t see a clear plumping effect and the shade doesn’t even add much of a highlight either. If you like lipgloss you might like it, but it isn’t my favorite.
Catrice Power Plumping Gel lipstick 030 Speak Up!
The Power Plumping Gel Lipsticks are next. Speak Up! is a great neutral shade and I love how nourishing this feels on the lips. It disappears quite easily, but I am pleasantly surprised by the opaqueness, color and comfort of this lipstick. I have reached for it a few times already in the past week.
Catrice Power Plumping Gel lipstick 090 The Future is Femme
You knew I had to try the red. I thought this shade in particular would be nice in this formula because it looks like a juicy watermelon. I am usually into matte reds, but for a juicy fruity shade I sometimes like going with a more glossy look. I think that despite the brightness, this is still very wearable. It packs a punch but because of the lightweight, soft formula,
it is still great for everyday.
Catrice Generation Matt 050 Danger Lips
Last but not least the liquid lipstick! The Generation Matt lipstick looks really nice on. It is a darker nude shade that has a red undertone and works well with my complexion. I definitely want to go into store and see if any of the other shades are unique enough to add to my collection. I already mentioned how this is the most comfortable liquid lipstick I have tried. I would compare this to the formula of the NYX Soft Matte lip creams, but then even more affordable.
In short, I am very pleased with these new Catrice lipstick releases. The Beautifying Lip Balm is a good lip balm and will appeal to people who like a super wearable and easy lip look. The gloss let me down the most as it is too thick and I feel does too little for me. But then again, I’m not a gloss girl. The best products here are the Power Plumping Gel Lipsticks and the Generation Matt Liquid Lipstick. Those are the two stand out products here. If you are looking for comfortable lipsticks that are opaque and offer a healthy looking lip, then these are for you.
