I am back to work after summer break, so high time to be sharing some outfits I wore more recently. Some of these date back to June, but as I wear super casual outfits in my down time and we had another heatwave, my outfits really weren’t that interesting for most of July. But by now, I have taken pictures of 6 outfits that I personally really liked and therefore I thought I’d share them again.
What I Wore | Summer 2019 Outfits
Dress | ZARA
Shoes | Nike Blaze
This outfit dates back to around heatwave no. 1 at the end of June. It is a super simple, but that is what I like about summer fashion. You can just chuck on a dress and a fun shoe and you’re good to go. This red gingham dress was one I picked up on sale years ago and I still love it. I love the pattern, the tiered effect and since it is big and billowy it keeps you nice and cool in the warm weather. It does have quite a strong pick nick blanket vibe to it, but I personally don’t mind that. I paired it with a pair of retro looking Nikes. Those were a sale purchase last year and I have only started wearing them this year.
Fruit top | Zara
Jeans | Topshop
Shoes | Nike Siren
Belt | H&M
Hair band | ZARA
This second outfit I wore on a grey and quite cool day. I was super tired so I needed something to cheer myself up. So I pulled out one of most colorful tops. I love clashing my outfit with my mood when I am having an off day. It instantly lifts my spirits! The hair band went with it quite well and while I usually don’t really accessorize much anymore, I loved this look. The top was very cute and another late summer sale purchase last year. I hadn’t had a chance to wear it yet, so I knew I had to pull it out.
Dress | Forever 21
Shoes | Asos
Another hot day = another simple outfit. I have had this green Forever 21 dress for years. While most of my Forever 21 pieces died very quickly on me (as in they literally fell apart), this dress which I bought a super long time ago is holding up well. It has such a fun bright green color and I love that detail along the neckline. There are no zips in this too: you just pull it on over your head and that makes this a super easy piece to wear. I love pairing it with these cow print plimsolls. They add a fun pattern and a bit of a quirky touch.
T-shirt | Mango
Trousers | Topshop
Shoes | Reebok Club C85
In summer we wear white. I have yet to be brave enough to wear a full white outfit, but this I feel already fits the bill quite well. I love this t-shirt which I got from Mango some years ago. It says ‘Hot Dogs in New York’ and it pairs well with so many outfits. My pleated trouser phase is not yet over. I wore a ton in my previous what I wore and my Topshop once make and appearance in this round. I would like to add a plain black pair of pleated pants, but I haven’t found the right ones yet. To finish off the look, I wore my current favorite sneakers which are this old school pair of Reeboks.
Blouse | Monki
Jeans | Topshop
Shoes | Nike Blaze
Can you see the background changing? I updated my office over the summer, so that’s why it looks a bit differently now. This is an outfit that I wore during summer break as I was visiting my brother. The blouse was another summer sale purchase and I love it. One, it has polka dots. Two, it has a fun collar. Three, it has a great boxy, cropped fit. I love myself a boxy blouse and red is my favorite color. To tie the outfit together, I wore my Nike Blaze again: they also have red and white!
Blouse | Urban Outfitters
Cardigan | Urban Outfitters
Jeans | Topshop
Shoes | Clark’s
The most recent outfit I wore last Sunday, visiting friends for a waffle party. It was a grey, rainy day and so I threw on a cardigan. Cardigans are making a comeback this fall/ winter and I couldn’t be happier. I love cardigans and I have a ton. Especially cropped cardigans that are slouchy are in. So I decided to look ahead and show you a fall staple outfit for me. I wore grey jeans and a navy floral print shirt. Both are super old items in my wardrobe but they are some of my favorites. The desert boots have been my go to bootie this summer. I have been wearing them loads. They got a bit discolored over time, but I still love how the taupe shade goes with nearly everything.
