Catrice Glowing Blush Box

Catrice Blush Box Glowing + Multicolour Dolce Vita Review, Swatch, Makeup Look

Catrice has come out with some new blushes and that is good news because generally speaking Catrice blushes are really good quality. They have released many renditions in the past years since they update their line every 6 months. Some of my favorites? The long since discontinued Illuminating Blushes. By now, Catrice has re-released similar products in the shape of Strobing blushes and now, they have released their glowing blush boxes. Are these as good?

Catrice Blush Box Glowing + Multicolour Dolce Vita // Review, Swatch, Makeup Look

There are two different shades in this new blush range which isn’t a whole lot, but it is a start. It fits within the restyled Blush Box range that was released last year and has replaced all previous single blushes by the brand. Since the product is new, the price has also gone up a bit: this retails for €3.99 which is more than their usual blush box price point, but similar to the price of other glowing/ strobing/ illuminating blushes Catrice has done in the past.

The Packaging

First up, I really like this packaging. A blush doesn’t have to come with a load of hoopla in my opinion: it should be all about the product and that is what this is. The clear lid clearly shows you the product inside, so there is no mistaken the color for something else and the square pan with the embossed design makes this blush look 20x more expensive than it actually is. Inside, you get 5.5 grams of product, which for a blush isn’t a whole lot but enough especially at this price point.

The Blush

Isn’t she a beaut? I love it when a brand goes the extra mile and not only produces great products but also makes them look pretty. I know, I know, you shouldn’t just a book by its cover, but this geometric embossed design just screams pretty to me. The blush itself is a pretty coral/ peach shade. There are 4 different shades of peach and coral in this blush and as you can see there is a slight sheen to it. Not enough to make this the kind of blush you can use as a highlight but hopefully enough to make this look glowy and natural on the skin.

The Swatch

As you can see in the swatch, there is a hint of glow to this blush that pulls almost a bit golden. There is also plenty of color, but this blush blends easily onto the cheeks and never looks too much. This is that type of blush that you can just apply and apply and apply and it still looks good. So no worries here that this blush makes you look like a clown with overapplied blush. In fact, with this blush I have been really liking going to town and slapping on as much as I could. To top things off: this blush wears well throughout the day as well as I had no issues with fading.

The Application

So what does this look like on the face? Well like this! In the first picture I’ve just applied bronzer and highlight. In the bottom picture I’ve applied the blush. As you can see that blush adds just that finishing touch to the face. The peachy shade looks healthy and natural and gives a flushed look without it being overdone. It is simply a stunning shade for the spring/ summer time. I feel it even has a bit of a blurring property as it toned down the texture of my skin that was very obvious after having applied some highlighter.

My Final Thoughts

My verdict on the Catrice Blush Box in Dolce Vita? It is a stunner of a blush that is not only affordable but also looks gorgeous on the skin. It adds just the right amount of color and has enough glow to not make it look flat but healthy and natural. It wears well, blends well and even blurs the skin. At this price point, this blush is an absolute steal as I feel this is a true contender against some of the more expensively priced blushes in my collection. I would highly recommend!
