How long has it been since I last posted a fashion blog post? Let’s just say that I had other plans, but then a flu, work and the Holiday messed those up. That said, I decided to just keep on taking pictures of outfits and I ended up with 8 in total to share with you. And it is quite diverse: from dresses to jumpsuits and cozy knits to lumpy cardigans: I wore a number of outfits that I loved.

What I Wore #12 // 8 Outfits for the Winter Months

Sweater dress | H&M
Faux leather leggings | Only
Thigh high boots | Asos

Let’s start with an outfit that I had envisioned years ago but just hadn’t worn yet. I have had this sweater that is so oversized it is a dress on me for years and I never wore it. It doesn’t look right with jeans, and with leggings I feel practically naked. So enter the perfect pair of faux leather leggings and pairing them with a pair of black suede over the knee boots that simply round off the outfit perfectly for the colder weather.

Presenting to you: my Christmas outfit. I have a few dresses that I love wearing for the Holidays and this burgundy velvet number is one of my favorites. If features a faux wrap style that I feel goes very well with the time of year. I love the color too and because of that I feel it doesn’t need anything more apart from a simple black bootie and tights. Because of the velvet texture this is quite warm and thick as well so a perfect winter dress, which I know people find difficult to pull off.

Jumpsuit | Pretty Little Thing
Shoes | Asos

You may remember this jumpsuit. I showcased it in a video last year as I bought it and then realized I wasn’t sure how to wear it. I tried several outfits and I had to agree with most of the comments on it that it looks best on me plain. But that put me in a bit of a conundrum as it is a quite lightweight material that is best worn on its own. So not great for most days in the winter time. But then the other day I had a dance party to go to and I figured that a jumpsuit would simply be perfect for it. I did change into my dancing shoes when I got there, but I feel these sock style boots from Asos worked really well with it.

Corduroy pants | Monki

Another super casual one. I put this on to run some errands on a random Saturday and liked it enough to feature it here. The pants are super highwaisted and extremely comfortable as a result. They are also a bit thicker and super soft so a great match for the colder weather. And this sweater as that is a bit more cropped and I struggled wearing it with most of my jeans, but it works so well with this.

I am well aware that H&M as a brand is featured heavily in my closet. It is not my intention but I generally get on very well with their stuff. This dress is one by the Swedish retailer that I have had for years. But it still fits and is very comfortable. I love the bright red shade and this is very much an OG outfit for me. I like pairing red with grey which is a bit unexpected, but I feel it works well. I did go with black tights and a pair of black boots for a bit of contrast. Not sure if you can see it, but the boots have a bit of texture to them.

This next outfit is another one that I wore to a dance party. I love wearing jumpsuits to these things as they are much more practical to keeping your dignity than a dress. They still offer enough room for movement and are therefore much more comfortable. This floral number with a square neckline is one I hadn’t worn yet. Jumpsuits are a bit impractical for work as they are so difficult to take on and off when you use the restroom. But they look cool. So it if just for a few hours then I have no issues.

Sweater | H&M
Jeans | Everlane
Shoes | Asos

This is an outfit that I pretty much copy/ pasted from my fall haul. The only thing that is different are the shoes, because those leopard booties I have had for years and still love them. But the rest of the outfit is made up of newer purchases. The jeans are some of the best one I found in a long time and they come in this stunning mustard shade. Paired with a cream sweater I feel they really stand out and this is very much in line with the latest Instagram fads of pairing all neutrals together. Not something I thought would look nice on me, but I quite like the result.

The last outfit I want to show you is another one of my dress with cardigan combos. I know not a lot of people like this kind of look, but I feel it works really well on me. The dress is a yellow polka dot number I found in the sales. It is quite oversized making it super comfortable. I threw the cardigan on on top and I felt it worked really well. Another quick, easy outfit that takes no effort to throw together. Yet it keeps you warm and is still work appropriate.

  1. Love that red dress and how you styled it with the gray cardi and black tights. Over the Holidays I wore a vintage red and black check dress (probably circa 1960s) with some black tights. And I also wore a circa 1950’s green wool dress out for lunch. They were vintage styles but still wearable today because they are classics. 🙂

    • I know! That sweater/ leggings combo was one I envisioned for years, but I didn’t have the right pieces to put it together. Now that I do, I regularly whip out this outfit.
