Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant concealer review

too faced born this way naturally radiant concealer review swatch makeup look application fair skin

Such a shame when a great product gets discontinued and that is the case with this product. The Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant concealer is one that I love, but that has since been replaced by the Multi-Use Sculpting concealer. While nice, that concealer is much too thick and cakey for my dry skin and I found it accentuated my fine lines around my eyes and didn’t look great at the end of the day. The one I prefer? The Naturally Radiant concealer which has none of those issues for me and yet it is no longer available.

Review: Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant concealer in Fair

I tried searching high and low for this concealer, but it is not even listed on the official Too Faced website anymore. They did release a new peach concealer but that one is not yet available in Europe, which is something Too Faced tends to do. It took a full year for the Peach and Tutti Frutti collections to come here so I can only wonder how long it will take for that new concealer to come our way. In any case, I have no way to look up how much this cost, but I am assuming it would retail around the €25 – €30 mark as many Too Faced products do.

What does this concealer have to offer?

So why still review a product that you can no longer get. Simple: because I love it. I used it for a while, never got around to reviewing it and then I rediscovered it again this year. I realized I had not yet posted this, so I wanted to put this out there. Why? Because it is one of my top 5 favorite concealers. It is one of the very few high end concealers I love. It is hydrating, not cakey, a medium coverage and it wears incredibly beautifully.

Why do I love this concealer so much?

This concealer simply features all of the aspects I love in a concealer. This is a rich and creamy formula that is easy to blend and work with. It is easy to apply with a sponge or with a brush and it works well on all areas of my face. It has the right amount of coverage for my personal needs which is a medium coverage that helps with my dark circles and covers up redness. Another thing I look for in a concealer is a good lasting power that doesn’t make my concealer cakey or pull into any fine lines nor should it accentuate any dry patches. Quite the list I know, but this ticks all the boxes. The doe foot makes it easy to apply and then it simply blends like a dream and wears all day. What’s more to love?

What does this concealer swatch like?

As you can see here, this concealer is a thicker, creamier formula than moist. It is a very hydrating formula and that is why I prefer this over the Multi-Use Sculpting concealer. That is more drying and more matte than this. This is definitely a concealer that is more aimed at dry skin and that is personally what I love. Because if a concealer is more matte I find it never looks as nicely on me, as a more hydrating formula. That is what this is and that is what I love it.

How does this concealer apply?

As you can see here, this concealer is perfectly capable of covering up my dark circles. If you like a more medium coverage concealer, this is a great one. The creamy texture makes this easy to blend and I find this is not super quick on the dry down so you have some time to work with it. I apply this with the doe foot across my face and then blend it in with a makeup sponge. It literally takes seconds and then I set it with a powder and it stays all day!

My final thoughts

It is such a shame you will have a hard time to find this. It says it is in stock on Sephora in the US, but I cannot access that website to be sure. There seem to be some darker shades floating around Ebay and Amazong, but other than that this will be very difficult to get your hands on. It is a great product that is great for a dry skin and I don’t understand why Too Faced decided to discontinue a product that is so inherently different from its replacement. This is so much better than the Multi-Use Sculpting concealer and it is definitely a very different product.

Would I recommend the Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant concealer?

If you could still get this, I would if you have dry skin. But since this is no longer available I would not recommend hunting this down. This is not the only concealer on the planet and there are many other concealers I love. If you are looking for something similarly in texture, I would recommend looking into the Catrice Liquid Camouflage and Make Up Revolution Conceal & Define concealers. Not only are these super affordable, they also do something very similarly!
