Let’s have a party! What kind of party you say? A swatch party in which I swatch all of my taupe eyeshadows. I love a good taupe so when a viewer of my Youtube channel suggested I could swatch all my taupe eyeshadows I knew I wanted to do that video. Taupe is one of those shades that can be hard to define: is it a brown? No. Is it a grey? No. Is it a silver/ gold? No. It is one of those shades that is nothing and yet everything at all at the same time. And that is why I love it so much. Let’s do some swatches!

I don’t know what to think about taupes. On one hand, they are great for everyday wear and they’re neutral yet have different undertones. They can be really versatile. But for some reason, I don’t really like them- they just seem “blah” when I put them on, especially the warm ones. To get something to really show up on my lids, I need a silver or a green or a vibrant purple. It’s probably because my lids are hooded and my eyes are so dark. I want to give taupes another chance, but I keep getting distracted by other colors.
I think if you find the shade that is right for you then it can work. Perhaps a very brightening one or a very deep one could look nice on you!
