It’s getting darker and darker as we’re nearing the winter season and that means that any which way you can brighten up a day is very welcome. Makeup wise that means whipping out some extra highlighter. And what better way to do that than with a holographic highlighter? Essence has decided to bring out that extra sparkle and have introduced a holographic highlighter stick to their range. But is it any good?

NARS do some awesome cult makeup products. There are the Radiant Creamy Concealer, Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer for starters. Another product that fits into that long line of cult favorites is NARS Albatross. This highlighter used to be raved about, but that was back when highlighting wasn’t really a thing. Such a shame that this doesn’t get more love, because it’s a great highlight for an everyday look.

Catrice is the brand that just keeps on giving! While I wasn’t all that pleased with some of their newly released lipsticks, there is one product in the new line that has pleasantly surprised me. It’s their newest highlighting powder. If you like some KAPOW glow in your life, then keep on reading, because this highlighter is a beaut.

Baked make up products are an acquired taste if you ask me. It’s not that I don’t like them, but 9 out of 10 times you have to work hard to make the product do very little in the end. But when I heard about the new I Heart Make Up Unicorn Hearts highlighter, I knew I wanted to try it. Because this baked highlighter not only packs a mean punch, but also has all the colors of the rainbow. What’s not to like?!

If there is one make up product that is high on many beauty lovers’ wishlists it has to be a Becca highlight. In the past 2 years, Becca has become THE talk of the town when it comes to highlighters and for good reason. Their highlights are intense, incredibly smooth and most importantly: non-glittery. I already spotted the brand in the US last year, back when Champagne Pop first launched. But I wasn’t sure what shade to go for and since these cost a sweet penny, I wanted to be sure I bought one I would love. Enter this year, which saw the release of a new shade: Pearl. And then I knew: Pearl would be my Becca highlight shade.

Despite the highlighter craze it wasn’t one of my favorite make up products for a long time. I tried a few here and there, but most highlighters tend to be golden toned and I don’t always find that flattering on my fair skin tone. But that’s when I discovered cool toned highlights and how they are perfect if you have pale skin like me. So when Urban Decay launched 3 highlighters in their permanent collection this year and I tried Aura, you can imagine how that was love at first swatch.

Dior has a new fall collection out in stores at the moment and am always excited when they do. When it comes to high end luxury make up, Dior is one of my favorite brands and their highlighters are usually amazing. I already own two: the 2014 spring and 2016 spring editions. So it will be no surprise to you, that when I spotted the Dior Fall 2016 collection in my local store I became the little magpie that I am and knew I had to had the Dior highlighter for fall 2016. Meet my newest beauty!
