If you saw my makeup declutters, you will have heard me mentioning my cubby with makeup memories. In my makeup collection, I keep a special part where I keep makeup that I know I will never ever get rid of. They are either special because I bought them during my travels, because they are limited editions or otherwise linked to blog posts that did well etc. I keep them all in a separate section and I thought I would talk you through all the products in this cubby.Read more
The last time I did a What I’ve Been Up To? September last year. That’s right, it’s been over 4 months since I last gave you an overview of what has been going on in my life. The reason is very simple: I’ve been busy, crazy busy. I don’t share much of what I’m up to online, but I spent every weekend and all my days off doing something, be it work, be it social, be it blogging. Especially the lead up to Christmas was insane and I was glad to start my vacation. That vacation is now almost over, meaning I’m about to return to the real world. Here’s what the latter quarter of 2016 looked like for me.
Curious to see what I’ve been up to all these months? Then keep on reading.

It’s become quite the tradition for me to write up a giant list of facts of my year in review. I usually post these on January 1st, but I’m sure nobody minds me doing it a few days later this year. And this time I’ve decided to tag on a few new year’s resolutions/ a peek at some things to come in 2017 at the end of the post as well. Alright, since this blog post is going to be long enough as it is, I will just get to it.
Yes I post daily blogs, yes I post something on Instagram on a daily basis, but do I share much of my ‘real life’ online? No I don’t. What I share is hardly ever related to work, friends, family and other activities I do in my daily life. When I do share, I am vague and hardly ever post in ‘real time’. Even though I am aware that sharing your personal life with your readers ups your level of likeability and makes it easier to relate to the person behind the blog, I do not feel inclined to post about my life’s daily goings on on social media and my blog. Here’s why.
Had lunch at this bright red boat with a friend. I pictured the boat, not the friend. 😉
A bit of an impromptu blog post for you today, but I thought I’d do one of my happy moments again today. It’s been ages since I last did these and I thought it was time I shared with you some recent moments that made me smile. Time to share some positivity!
What are your recent happy moments?

The end of summer is almost here and since my summer vacation especially was filled with tons of fun stuff, I am posting an overview of some of the things I did rather more quickly than I usually do. If you would like a more regular peek at what I am up to, then follow me on Instagram (@indiequeen84). I try to upload a picture every day.

My picture taking streak did not dwindle down this month. I think I may have started to become a little bit addicted to Instagram these days and I try to have a new picture up every day. And so far that’s been working. My next Instagram overview will therefore contain tons of pictures as these blog posts are starting to run behind terribly. This one contains pictures from as far back as September. But in any case, here’s some of the things I’ve been up to since then. If you want to stay up to date with my daily goings on, then please follow me on Instagram @indiequeen84.
Haircut time! I got my hair cut and loved the result.
I went to a different hairdresser and absolutely still love my hair.
Even though there is no way I can ever get it to look like this again.
Chocolate cake with my friend @Vooraf en toe
I love the play of light in fall time. This is 7 AM some time in October.
Blogging means taking tons of pictures.
I save up my ideas for vacations and then spend 2 days taking pictures.
This was fall break, when I took pictures for my fall series, among other things.
Working out has also been something I’m really enjoying again.
It’s still a bit on and off at times, but I go as much as I can.
I tend to squeeze in at least 3 work outs a week on average.
My favorite past time: ready with a cup of tea.
You know make up is of great quality when it lasts all day.
I took this picture after I got home from work, which means this was on my face for almost 12 hours.
I’m still working on a review of the palette I used to create this.
Another early morning… Oude Rijn in Leiden.
At the beginning of my fall vacation, I swopped my summer dresses for my winter dresses.
The first foundation I ever finished.
You might have seen this in yesterday’s Empty Products video.
Sometimes the breaking dawn throws the most amazing lighting around.
I hate getting up early, but to see something this pretty always makes it a little less bad.
Leiden, Molen de Valk.
I’ve been on a major Christmas decoration kick lately.
This will be the first year my house will truly be decorated for the Holidays.
Vacation make up time. This was my make up for a day out in London.
Just a chillaxed day.
Am I the only person who lounges around in sports leggings on casual days?
In my defense: I did work out later that day.
Brown metallic lipstick. From Topshop.
I quite like it! Review is in the works.
