Where yesterday was all about face sprays in the skincare range, today’s blog post is all about the review of some Essence makeup sprays. Because where sprays can be part of your skincare routine, they can also be part of your makeup routine. I have some experience with setting sprays, but a primer spray was new to me. These two launched as part of the Essence 2018 spring/ summer changeover and I have had some time to try them out after I bought them.

After trying this for weeks on end, I finally feel ready to review this product. In terms of face primer, I do not have too much experience, but that also means that I am going into these kind of products quite blindly. I don’t have a strong preference for a primer yet and all I know is that I quite liked the ELF Hydrating Primer. In terms of hydration, I have heard even better things about the Too Faced Hangover RX primer. So do I love it as much?

One makeup product that I introduced to my makeup routine in 2017 is primer. I was someone who never used primer before. With my dry skin, a primer just never really seemed like a product I would need. Until I discovered the concept of a hydrating primer. Because my skin could always do with more hydration. If it can make my makeup last longer to boot, then what a great bonus that would be. The ELF Hydrating primer is the first primer that I truly like.

Eyeshadow primer is a makeup lovers dream. It makes sure your eyeshadow stays put and makes the color payoff more vibrant. Before I started watching youtube videos I had never even heard of it. It’s really one of those products that has slowly made its way onto the consumer market with the Urban Decay and Too Faced versions being the cult favorites. But when high end brands do something like this, drugstore brands can’t stay behind. Today we’re looking at the Milani eyeshadow primer.

When I spotted that Essence would be bringing out a primer, I was intrigued. 2017 has really been the year of the primer for me so far. I just wanted to try a few and it seems to be a makeup item that is becoming more and more popular too. That is of course why Essence decided to release this. But does this product do what it promises? Let’s find out.

The first product from Catrice’s new range that I would like to review for you is the Light Correcting Serum Primer. Why? Because next to the face palette it’s the product that intrigued me most. I went on a major primer kick this year. Before I was quite skeptical of primers, but I can see how they can play a role in my makeup routine now. I just haven’t found my favorite one yet. Could this be it?

This year, I’ve decided I want to try some more primers. My face isn’t overly oily and make up staying on my face isn’t usually something I have to deal with, but in the summer time, when temperatures rise, my skin gets oilier and it’s good to have a product to help combat the shine and staying power of my make up. I use eyeshadow primer every single day already, so why not on my face? So when I was offered to try the multi-use Pure Magnesium Skin Balm by Zechsal, that could also work as a primer, I was all ears.
