The contouring trend is long over, but Catrice still decided to launch a new contouring palette. They did one that is excellent, which I reviewed a long time ago, but sadly that was discontinued. So now they have decided to bring it back, but rather than a shimmery highlight and a contour shade, the reincarnation has a matte highlight banana powder, a matte contour shade and a translucent setting powder. How did I get on?Read more
Last summer I placed an order for some Colourpop singles and by now I have been able to use them enough to tell you how I feel about these. The focus of this blog post, however, will not be the review, but the makeup looks. This is going to be a picture heavy post with looks I created using every single shadow in this palette. If you are interested in seeing how I created the palette, then click this link to see my first impression. For now, let’s just get into the blog post.Read more
If there is one thing I am always curious after is how good expensive makeup products are. Are they really worth their price point? Are they really any better than a product a fraction of the price from the drugstore? Very often my answer to that question is a solid no. A palette that came out of nowhere for me this year was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina palette. The minute I saw it, I knew I had to have it. These shades are totally up my alley and I knew I’d love it. I am not a huge Anastasia fan. I don’t sing the Modern Renaissance’s praises into the sky by any means, but I do have to say that ABH is one of the more innovative brands out there. They definitely are one of the trendsetting brands in makeup right now and whatever they do, other brands seem to be doing it right after. Will the Norvina be another trendsetting palette?Read more
When you hear some good information about a drugstore concealer that isn’t truly hyped up, then that is of course a reason to try it for yourself. That was definitely the case for the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer. I heard some people giving this positive reviews back when it first launched, but this mostly went under the radar. Still, that doesn’t mean that this won’t be any good. I managed to track it down a while ago, but just hadn’t gotten round to review it yet.Read more
Finding a good, affordable bronzer is quite the task, so whenever I find one that looks like a good option, I of course want to try it. Case in point: the Essence Luminous Matt bronzer. This bronzer is very affordable and it is the first bronzer from Essence’s regular line that has not looked too orange or dark for my skin. How much do I like this bronzer?
