One of my goals for 2019 was to try my more indie brands. One of the first purchases I made was the Meesha Lou Cosmetics Witchcraft palette. It was a palette that many people raved about in 2018, but not many people talk about this brand anymore. And that is a shame, because now that I have tried it properly, this is a great, unique palette that deserves all the love it can get.

It’s been a while since I last reviewed some skincare, but today I am bringing it back with a vengeance. Because today’s review is all about one of my favorite skincare items. The Body Shop is one of my favorite brands for skincare to begin with and the Aloe Vera line by them especially. The line is formulated specifically for sensitive skin and was the first skincare line I ever found that worked for me. I have reviewed several products from the line, but one of my favorites I had not yet gotten round to. So today a closer look at The Body Shop Aloe Calming Foaming Wash.

In 2018, I received a Physician’s Formula Butter Highlighter in Pearl as part of a swap. While I love that shade, I had originally wanted to try was the shade Iridescence. So when I spotted it in Rite Aid when I was in New York and it was buy one get one 40% off on all Physician’s Formula, I decided to buy it to try it out. I already knew I liked the formula, but the question is: do I like the shade?

Urban Decay Afterglow Blush Rapture

Yay!! We’re back!!! Well, Photobucket is back that is. For just over 2 weeks I wasn’t able to upload a single image to their serves due to a power outage at their server station. Today I gave it another try and it worked again. So high time to be reviewing some makeup again. The blush I wore most at the end of 2019? Urban Decay’s Rapture, which was a surprising hit to be as I liked this so much that I barely used another blush all December.

Let’s try out a high end primer for a change shall we? Usually I swear by drugstore primers. They are a product I go through quickly and I do not see much of a difference between my more high end and more affordable primers. For instance, one of my favorites is the Catrice Fresh It Up primer which I feel is a dupe for a much more expensive Smashbox version. So I hadn’t tried a high end primer since then. Time to change that by having a closer look at the Becca First Light Priming Filter.

My current highlighter of choice? The Benefit Cookie highlighter. I bought this when I was in New York and immediately put it to good use. I made it part of my November Shop My Stash and loved it so much that I continued it into my December Shop My Stash. So for me to keep a product around for another month means I genuinely like it. So what makes me love Benefit’s Cookie so much?

The Ordinary Lactic Acid

the ordinary lactic acid skincare review swatch 5% ha

One of my wishes to try for 2019 were some good exfoliants. I had always used physical exfoliants before and they worked well enough, but I had also heard they aren’t the best for your skin or the environment. So I decided to try a chemical exfoliator instead. With my skin being quite sensitive, I was reluctant at first, but then read up on acids and their uses and found that a lactic acid is the gentlest kind and great to get started. These are my experiences so far.
