Catrice Skin Glaze primer

Catrice can do good primers. In their spring/ summer 2024 collection they have released another new one: the Skin Glaze Hydrating Serum primer. With only 15 mls of product, is this baby sized primer any good? Let’s find out.

Because that is the thing that initially stands out the most: while one of the more expensive primers Catrice has ever created, it only comes with half the product of most primers. So will we go through this quickly and that makes it still quite expensive because you would have to repurchase this all the time.

Review: Catrice Skin Glaze Hydrating Serum primer

At €5.49 this primer is one of the more expensive primers I have seen Catrice do. Yet, Catrice makes some decent primers that get the job done and many of their primers have been some of my favorites. But with only 15 mls of product you will go through it quickly and that means that I feel you are better off buying a more expensive primer if you were eyeing this up.

What does this primer have to offer?

What I love about this product is that for a drugstore primer it really doesn’t feel cheap. It has a glass bottle, a nice dropper and the product looks stunning. It seems to have a duochrome pearl to it that really had me have high expectations.

This product is not as the name might suggest a skincare/ makeup hydrid. This is mostly a makeup product that has a hydrating formula. It can be used under makeup and is supposed to make makeup last longer.

I am showing you the product full on here as when you blend it into the skin it is fully transparent and you can’t really see it. Here you can see a bit of that pink/ gold iridescence that I was describing above. You can see this in the bottle as well.

The thin, watery texture means this is easy to apply but you also need a full dropper every time you use it. It does feel hydrating on the skin and it makes your makeup last all day.

Unfortunately this primer doesn’t do much in terms of adding glow or hiding imperfections. It is essentially just a watery primer that makes your makeup last. It adds a bit of glow but a truly skin glazing effect like some K-beauty products can do this won’t achieve. It does sit well under makeup which is why I love this.

Should you buy the Catrice Skin Glaze primer?

As much as I appreciate Catrice primers, this one isn’t one worth a repurchase. Yes it gets the job done and it is easy to work with, but overall this doesn’t wow me. I would rather spend a bit more and get a Milk Makeup Hydrogrip. Because with so little product inside this is still going to be expensive in the end. I have already used up half the bottle while I have only been using it for 2 weeks straight. So no, this is not worth it.
