I make it no secret that there are some men’s fragrances I enjoy. One such fragrance? Chanel Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum. While this may be marketed towards men, fragrance is always unisex as long as you like the smell of it. Let me explain why I like this especially for spring.
This review is for the Eau de Parfum. There are other versions of this fragrance available. The 50 ml bottle retails for €86, but I always try to get a deal and so I definitely did not pay that amount for this bottle.
Perfume review: Chanel Bleu de Chanel
This fragrance has been around for some time now and it is described as a woody, citrus scent. I am not normally a huge fan of citrus in fragrance as I feel everything smells like air freshner. But this one worked well. I first tried it as a free sample and liked it enough to buy the full size.
What does this fragrance have to offer?
The fragrance notes according to fragrantica are as follows:
- Base: Grapefruit, Lemon, Mint, Pink Pepper, Bergamot, Aldehydes, Coriander
- Middle: Ginger, Nutmeg, Jasmin, Melon
- Base: Incense, Amber, Cedar, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Amberwood, Labdanum
I certainly get a very fresh citrusy opening with this. But it very quickly warms up and what is left is a woodsy, warm, spicy fragrance with a touch of freshness. With men’s fragrances I always feel there is a stronger alcohol element which has to evaporate before you can truly smell the fragrance. But once that happens, this smells divine.
Should you buy Chanel Bleu de Chanel?
What I love about this fragrance is how perfect it is for spring. It has the freshness I like for the warmer weather but it still has that warmth that I love all my fragrances to have. This isn’t for everyone and it is a very popular men’s fragrance so you can smell this everyone. So it may not be super unique, but it is an easy everyday fragrance for sure.
