Instanails #9

Today I am bringing you another overview of some of the different nail looks I wore in the past 2 months or so. I have been really enjoying doing my nails lately, which has led to quite a few nail polish posts on instagram, because that’s where these manicures go first. I wore an array of mostly darker hues this time round as it were the closing days of winter when I wore most of these.

OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight
Essence Only Purple Matters

I wore these deep plum combination for my brother’s wedding. I wore a dark purple dress and thought this would go nicely with it. OPI’s Lincoln Park at Midnight is a very deep purple shade, and I thought some added sparkle would liven it up. Such a shame that Essence stopped doing all these lovely different top coats. They are some of my favorites!

OPI The Show Must Go On (Limited Edition)

This duo chrome is one of the oldest polishes in my collection. I believe it came from the Burlesque collection and it is definitely one not for the faint of heart. On the pictures this may look like a pink base with golden sparkle, but when this hits the light just right it has an orange/ gold/ pink shift to it. A stunner and one of the more unique shades in my collection.

OPI Cement the Deal (Limited Edition)
OPI Shine for Me (Limited Edition)

A combo made in heaven! These polishes were both released in the Fifty Shades of Grey collection and they are still one of my favorite combinations to wear. Cement the Deal is the perfect grey polish for my skin tone, which is quite difficult to get right. Greys can look too dull or too ashy against paler skin, but this works. Add a bit of sparkle on top and you have a very pretty combo.

Sally Hansen Commander in Chic

Not all of my nail looks were glitz and glam. I also opted for some creamy shades. Commander in Chic is a great taupe that has a very neutral undertone. It looks a little murky in the picture, but in real life it has more a pink tone to it. This is one of those shades that is just a great neutral polish to own. It has something very classy and sophisticated about it.

Essie Bordeaux

I am all about those deep red shades: on my lips, in my clothes and on my nails! Essie Bordeaux seemed right up my alley, but when I swatched it I found it to be quite sheer. Luckily for me, I found out that on the nail this is a very beautiful polish. While sheer at first, this does go on opaque in two coats and gives a very glossy finish. Takes a bit of work to get even, but it definitely is worth the effort.

Catrice Soft Blossom nail polish 03 Flower Berrybouquet

This final polish I reviewed just recently. Launched as part of the new Catrice spring/ summer range for 2017, this scented polish doesn’t smell until your top coat wears off. The color is a bit darker than you’d expect, but this is a pretty berry shade nonetheless. It is also my newest nail polish acquisition.

What have you been wearing on your nails?

  1. Mooie kleurtjes zitten er tussen! Ik ben tegenwoordig helemaal fan van gelnagellak, dus die draag ik de laatste tijd. Zo mooi!

  2. Oooh, Commander in Chic is fantastisch.
