Random outfits #1

Instead of doing a regular lookbook, I thought it would be nice to show you a bunch of random outfits that I actually wore out. Unfortunately I often forget to take pictures of my every day outfits. So the outfits you see below were taken between August and now. So excuse that one very summery outfit, but we had plenty of nice days in September and a true Indian summer, so there is one outfit that by now seems horribly out of place. Also, these aren’t necessarily the most interesting outfits I wore. No, these are more like the outfits I remembered to take a picture of. I hope you still enjoy this fairly random post though.

Button down sleeveless blouse (H&M)
Black skater skirt (H&M)
Burgundy cardigan (ZARA)Black tights (Hema)
Black brogues (Primark)
Golden leaf patterned necklace (Primark)

I wore this outfit to work some time in early September. It got cold quite quickly after I got back to work in August, so wearing tights and cardigans was definitely a must. I think this may be my favorite outfit in the bunch. It’s entirely made up of items I’ve had for ages. I bought the shirt and the skirt at the H&M sale years ago (for 7 euros each or something crazy like that). The cardigan is a staple in my wardrobe and I dread the day it will become threadbare and useless.

White blazer (H&M)
Checkered suit trousers (H&M)
Black v-neck t-shirt (Forever 21)
Black heeled Chelsea boots (H&M)
Blue statement necklace (Forever 21)

This is the most recent outfit in the bunch. I threw this on last week and really liked it. I had a few moments to spare before heading out the door and I snapped this shot. Yes, people, I took this picture before 7 AM, which is why I usually forget to take pictures. I’m usually in a hurry to get out the door or to get into sweatpants after a long day once I get home. I’m not a huge fan of monochrome looks, which is why I added the blue necklace to add a touch of color. Also, no lipstick as I have breakfast on the train and always apply my lipstick after that.

White lace dress (H&M)
Mint green cardigan (New Yorker)
Nike Roshe Run sneakers (mint & orange)
Sunglasses (H&M)

This is the summer outfit I mentioned in my intro to this post. It was the last hot day of the year so I maximized by wearing a strappy summer dress with lace detail. White makes for an instant summer color I find. And paired with mint green I like how fresh it looks. The dress is a bit too short for going to work. So I wore this on a day off when I had to go to my allergy doctor for a lung test (yippy!)

Black & blue leather jacket (Mango)
Black & grey marbled sweater (Monki)
Topshop Joni jeans in indigo blue (Topshop)
Nike Roshe Run in mint & orange
Backpack (only the straps are visible) (Forever 21)

And I’m wearing the same shoes again. I swear these are some of the comfiest shoes I own. I used them all summer and took them with me as one of two pairs of shoes for my Interrail trip last summer. I walked more than you would believe and I swear these shoes make it all doable. Other than that this is one of the comfiest outfits in the pack. I must have worn this on a very casual day off. The jacket was on sale last winter for next to nothing so I snatched it up and it’s become a wardrobe staple. The sweater is another sale item I picked up in Denmark last summer. It’s super soft and long and slouchy and just one of my favorite things to wear.

Pink lace dress (New Yorker)
Black waterfall cardigan (H&M)
Black tights (Primark)
Heeled black ankle boots (Van Haren)

Another dress! You all know I like dresses, so there had to be another dress in here. The color is a bit washed out in the pictures. But this dress is actually a soft rosy pink lace dress that I picked up quite some time ago. It’s quite a nice staple to have and I love pairing pink with black. I wasn’t into waterfall cardigans at all, until I found this massive one at the H&M sale last summer. I absolutely love wearing this over a dress.

Black v-neck t-shirt (Forever 21)
Black blazer with stitched details (H&M)
Floral trousers (H&M)
Black heeled Chelsea boots (H&M)

My other favorite outfit in this post, would be this one. I love how the pattern just pops out at you and this is one of my favorite pairs of pants. It adds just a bit more interest in an otherwise quite stiff and business casual outfit. This is one of my favorite types of outfits to wear to work. It’s simple, yet fun. The blazer is from the summer sale this year. The trousers are from 2 years or so ago.

Putting these all together made me realize how much black I’ve been wearing. I go through phases with liking a certain base color for my every day outfits. This time round it seems to be black.

What is your favorite outfit?
